Interesting. I thought their offense was a big issue for them. Why would you want baby Briles?
The up-tempo is great at times but going full speed all the time makes no sense when you can’t run the ball. That’s also the problem when you go with a heavy passing game. The main problem being that the clock doesn’t move and it puts your defense in a tough spot if being in the field too long. At one point in the first half we had the ball for over 18 minutes to their 6.

I believe it is over stated about how much up tempo offenses wear out their own defenses.
What wears out a defense? Total snaps played and lack of actual time to rest between series.
Successful pass heavy offenses can run a bunch of plays without using a lot of game clock. But actual real time elapsed may be similar. Is a defense really more tired after giving up a 10 play 7 min gm time drive vs a 10 play 3 min gm time drive?
This is like Penn State fans saying Joe Paterno was the victim.

To be fair there were plenty of Baylor posts who deplored Art, Junior and those who defend them. But, I know personally people who believe that Art was merely a scapegoat and was never charged or convicted. Crazy.
If the defense would get off the field in 3 downs they wouldn’t be so tired in the first place
