Bragging rights for a few months is fun.
College sports is the closest to what European sports leagues are. You have a team that plays in a city and will never move.
College sports realignment is not about sports. Never has been. Anyone telling you otherwise does not LOVE college sports.
College sports realignment is equal to a pro franchise moving to another city.
By moving to another conference it kills the very essence of college sports.
Granted European soccer leagues have five major markets but here is what you do not see in the cfp. All champions from the smallest soccer leagues have a chance to play in the highest European soccer competition called the Champions League. It used to be called the European Cup. So for example the MAC Champion plays a preliminary round to qualify and play in the Champions league.
Do you see that coming any time soon in the cfp? That is the entire point.
What is going on is the exact opposite and if the big10 and sec have their way we all know what is coming next. Both have no grounds to stand on, none.
You are right and how uta highjacked the BIG8 and self created the BIG12 is well documented. uta got the the schools they wanted in for recruiting reasons. They kicked out the ones that was a threat to their recruiting.
UH finishing 10-1 while on probation and with a reduced roster in 1990 was the last reminder to uta that they could not ever afford a strong UH.
Barry Switzer said it best when we almost got invited to the BIG12 before our entry a couple of years back.

His reaction is the perfect snapshot of what has been going on since the U of H started beating blue bloods in the 60’s. I wrote it multiple times uta being in bed with the ncaa kept happening for one single reason and we all know what it is.
Friends all of this is behind us but don’t EVER, EVER forget history. For the ones that do not know history pick up a book or do some research. This is where the entire UH sports department need to do their job and educate our fans.
HCWF is the perfect leader to get us in the cfp regularly. That is something that every fan has to clearly understand and what comes with it. Our future depends on it. It is a lot harder to kick to the curb a National winning program. What is going at UH is uta’s worst nightmare. Let’s keep it that way.
