it’s gonna be a bumpy road due to all the turnover but we shouldn’t he flirting with the bubble even if we aren’t as up to usual standard lol
Wasn’t McCarty the one who got the freak injury in an earlier game this year? He shot the ball and just started yelling. He tried to come back in after halftime but it hurt too much.
Next season we have Arafan a top 7-1 center and Alozie who is a guard with elite speed and power. We’ll also have a more mature Harwell who will be the next star IMO.
I also think Mercy and Chase are going to take over and help lead the team as leaders as well. Plus Sampson will use the portal and land a few key players.
I thought we were just talking about the players in General….no argument that Peat is better offensively down low.
But I like Cenac better as a player and his potential as well.
I think UH would like to RS Alonzie next year if they can.
For sure. I like both players, and agree Cenac has bigger upside. I’m a Cenac fan, especially the way he’s attacked the boards lately. I’d rather have Jojo off the bench and have low post scorer in the starting lineup. Ewin from Arkansas type player
Call me an optimist — I think Milos is going to have a strong close to the season. It’s been bumpy at times, but I believe he’s turning the corner.
As far as Tugler is concerned… he remains a talent and consummate hustler on defense. But it’s difficult to watch him process the game when he’s possessing the basketball.
Has there been someone from the program that has said this? Maybe I missed it.
Personally, I don’t see it……he is a pretty mature kid that I think can step in and play significant minutes next year.
Of course lots of unknowns between now and then.
As I’ve said several times, the only improvement I’ve seen from Tugler is he’s making more of his free throws this year. Otherwise, he’s just a foul waiting to get called. It’s like he’s a magnet and fouls are made of iron.
We lost peat because of tugger. I rather have peat any day.
You are right about Alozie. He’s Jamaal Shead with springier legs. Maybe not as refined a passer as Shead at that age. He has an effortless 3-point shot too. I think that cat will be awesome. So many intangibles. Striking that he’s only a 4-star because he has impressive written all over him. He’s got a pit bull attitude too.
Wait…some sites have him a five star
Let’s remember getting to the final four is a tremendous achievement in itself. It’s very difficult just to get there. It almost requires some luck. I’ve said it before, CKS best chance to win a championship was last year.
Tugler has been a disappointment. I think there’s something going on behind the scenes.
Or maybe between the ears lol
Lol
Cenac does not have enough to bully his way inside. I have mentioned a fade away jumper inside but if perimeter shots aren’t falling in like they were today, good defenses will just clog up the paint and continue to force you to make tough shots outside
Gotta want to play post - Not something you can really teach without self
Sorry if it’s been posted but why did Ramon Walker not play?
Sadly that’s what NIL will do to a lot of guys who had that hunger at one time - become great team guys and getting paid just to be around and we forgot why we even brought them there
We just have to pray we have enough offense emerge from the remaining cast next year.
I think this philosophy is the problem.
The Coogs have a similar problem to the Rockets, in that we don’t have a real offensive system. Great D, so we will always be competitive, but we always seem to get to a point in the season where we need baskets and can’t get the points.
remember when we thought Jojo was going to be shooting 3’s?
That’s why you don’t pass to Cenac far from the restricted area. It keeps him from having to walk back defenders. He’d already be in great post position and the fade an option.
As far as Cenac not having enough bully in him for post ups…idk about all that. Is this a issue of will? Can’t be a size issue if we’ve called plays for Tuggler and Cenac is taller and heavier. It doesn’t make sense.
Even so, he could at least use his speed down low. The guy tried a reverse layup yesterday as a near 7 footer for crying out loud. Lol
Just feels like wasted opportunity and stubbornness on someone’s who will not be named part.
