The third division winner always seems to be susceptible to the team that had to fight to get a wildcard spot. The short series makes them a toss-up.

Born and bred Orioles fan here, of over 60 years. I saw them get punched here in Houston this summer and they were just not the same club after that. Unlike my two deep-in-despair Astro fan sons, I’ve seen so many of the good times and bad times that I can move on immediately. I long ago stopped tying my self-esteem to what happens on a field, court, or rink.
