The Gorge. Apple TV.

Ana Taylor-Joy/Miles Teller.

Sci-Fi action/romance/horror, suspenseful thriller.

I found it to be highly entertaining.

Goggle it to learn more.

Who won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards the year you were born?
For me it was William Holden for Stalag 17 and Audrey Hepburn for Roman Holiday. 1954 was the year.

1971

George C. Scott for “Patton” and Glenda Jackson for “Women in Love.”

Yeah, I enjoyed it as well. I’d put it in the same genre as The Quiet place.

Ended up being a good popcorn flick

1947

Ronald Coleman and Loretta Young

I looked it up and it was Marlon Brando… apparently before he got fat and before he transitioned to male:

Love Bridge on the River Kwai. “Madness. Madness”

I just streamed “Sinners.”

Good, creepy horror/period piece.

Not sure it was “Best Picture” good, but for people looking for monsters, blood, and guts, it fits the bill!

An oldie, but just watched “Million Dollar Baby” again tonight. Fantastic performances by Hillary Swank, Morgan Freeman, and Clint Eastwood. Deserved every award it won.

Gut wrenching.

did your favorite sci fi make the list…

10 Greatest Sci-Fi Horror Movies Since ‘Alien,’ Ranked

Some good movies on that list. I didn’t really care for Prometheus, but thought Sunshine was pretty amazing. And, of course, The Thing is a classic.

Surprisingly, three of them did.

Event Horizon
Sunshine
Pandorum

Indeed. I stumbled on to it years ago seeing it starred Cillian Murphy who to my knowledge has never acted in a bad movie. Much like my all time top 10 fave Event Horizon, it was an excellent blend of mystical and intellectual, science fiction and horror. Very few movies have attained that level of genre blending perfection, in my opinion.
