MOVIES

Corona certainly spead up the process but the main reason I don’t see movies in theaters anymore is my big screen TV and surround sound system are awesome. Going to Cinemark or AMC isnt the big treat it used to be.

And didn’t even splurge. My 4k HDTV was less than 850 with tax!

LOL you can get an 85" hdtv for less than $1k now.

Watched “Civil War” yesterday….was excited to see it.

Huge bummer….IMO it sucked.

I was bored to tears……could have been so much better.

And….

Watched “ They Were Expendable “ this morning….i was blown away….a movie made in 1945 had that much of a realistic vibe to it….wow.
They must have spent some serious coin on that movie.

I’m a movie nerd as well. I have a 4k projector with screen and a not too outrageous sound system. I mainly stream (apple tv), but if it’s a good movie, I get a 4K bluray and watch it in its uncompressed glory through a playstation 5.

What service did you stream They Were Expendable on?

It was on AMC.

Wife and I saw Sight last night.

Last time in a theater was Dunkirk in IMAX.

Recorded 4 old war movies off TMC. I keep The Longest Day in my DVR for June 6

Godzilla minus one on Netflix. Fantastic.

Finally subjected myself to Oppenheimer.

Double header Encino Man followed by Son-in-Law on cmt this morning.

Encino-Man littered with Oscar winners (Brendan Fraser, Ke Huy Quan)

You left out Pauly Shore.

My bad… 2000 Razzie award winner for worst new star of the decade Pauly Shore (per imdb)

Completely and wholly undeserved for a craftsman of his caliber

I felt Oppenheimer focused too much on his “persecution” for being a commie

Oppenheimer

You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain

Watched one yesterday called “What You Wish For”….not too bad.

Entertaining for the most part.

Looking Forward to “Hitman” with Glen Powell this weekend.

Anybody seen the Garfield movie?

How is it?

I was very disappointed in the first such movie.

Always loved the comic strip though.

I’m planning to see a movie on the Juneteenth holiday, and am looking for ideas; also considering the new Mad Max.

Watched Godzilla Minus One. It was pretty good. On Netflix

“Subjected” is the right word.

I liked Oppenheimer. Its Rotten Tomatoes critic rating is 93%. I saw Furiosa the other day. It was okay. The Dead Don’t Hurt was a pretty fair Western. Could have had more action. Dune 2, One Life (about a Czech who saved children from the Holocaust), and Cabrini were good films.
