MOVIES

Yeah, theaters kinda suck now. It goes deeper than just the fact that it’s easier to watch at home; audiences have gotten so rude.

I saw Becoming Led Zeppelin in the theater and it was great!

If you’re a Zeppelin fan, I highly recommend you check it out in the theater!

It’s the cell phones for me. One theatre has a strict policy on it - you use it, you leave. If only all theatres were like this.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. That’s another good book.

I’ll add French Connection and Serpico.

And probably time to watch Godfather 1 and 2 again. I feel like I’m watching those about every 4 months now.

I watched Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me recently. It had been decades since I saw it. Great companion to the TV series.

I just rewatched both Godfathers last weekend….good stuff.

I think you’ll really like The French Connection….the script was written based off a non fiction book about two real NYC detectives.

I don’t know if you like The Accountant, but the second one of the trilogy comes out next month….unfortunately my basketball season is over now but I’m gonna try and score some SXSW tickets to see the premiere.

There was something special about how those 70 movies were written, directed, and acted.

I’m watching the Godfather right now, in small pieces. Why? I was watching You’ve Got Mail.

I’ll also table Three Days of the Condor and Marathon Man, as 70’s movies worth watching.

If you ever have the time, I recommend watching the first 2 “in order”

The Prequel scenes of Part II + Godfather I + Sequel scenes of Part II

Awesome movie about out of control covert zealots and how extremely difficult it is to deal with them when they have power people don’t know they have.

Very true.

Finally saw Heretic.

It’s like a religious themed Saw type of movie, with Hugh Grant as Jig Saw

Add LA Confidential and Ronin to your list

In 1989 Lawrence of Arabia was re-released and I saw it at a Dallas Movie Theater that still had 70mm screen.

Unreal and my greatest ever movie watching experience. The 70 mm screen covers the entirety of your visual world. It literally wraps you up and puts you into the movie.

I always consider Lawrence to be the greatest movie ever made.

A little off topic but if you have a chance to go to the Sphere in Vegas, it’s the most amazing video experience I’ve experienced

Truly great movie. North by Northwest is close.

IMAX movies are pretty close.
