It’s Jalopnik. Very legit auto site. This author put spin on it, but it’s not a bad source.
Who or was anyone charged with neglect homicide?
Not sure; I could not find any details of how this was resolved or
if still in litigation.
Here is the video where the tesla fsd appears to get confused in attempting a left
turn, then proceeds straight. There are no visual conditions impacting the camera only system when it gets momentarily confused. And the not respecting the double yellow lines is the second failure in this short video. A new driver would have failed their driving test with these successive screwups imho. Watch and draw your own
conclusion. Fanboys will of course see it differently.
Yet I see that happen every day with human drivers. It didn’t hit anyone or put anyone in danger, but yea go ahead and fake rage about it. Your media masters have said so.
I think it’s your media masters that we should examine.
People have been killed by tesla FSD and there are 4 other instance
of the Tesla having problems in glare, low light/rain, and dust conditions that
are also being looked at by NHSTA. Those are facts.
So would you describe yourself as a Tesla fanboy or more an Elon
fanboy ?
Tech fanboi. Free from politics, which seems not to be the case with a lot of posters here. But aren’t self aware enough to know.

Tesla robotaxi slams on brakes hard — catches influencer riding by surprise, who says “it braked for no reason,” but was it due to mild sun glare, which is kryptonite for Tesla’s lame full self driving software (FSD)?
Get why Waymo uses lidar and radar?
It’s not just people here. Tesla has a global sales decline problem.
Many reasons why - stale, limited, products or revulsion of CEO’s unelected endeavor into governing. Or other vendors with equal or better products at lower prices. Or fear of attracting unwanted attention from nuts.
Or the attempt to do fully self driving with cameras only and deaths and
multiple investigations ongoing.
People can choose to boycott products for any reason they want, if that is what is getting under your skin. Actions have consequences. Ask Budweiser how putting a picture on a can impacted sales.
More facts on Tesla May sales.
Per the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Tesla EV registrations (a proxy for sales) in Europe fell 27.9% to 13,863 in May compared to a year ago. Meanwhile, overall EV registrations in the region, which includes the UK and the European Free Trade Association, rose 25% in May, with overall registrations down 0.6%.
May’s total marks the fifth straight month of declining Tesla sales in the European region. May’s total was better than the fall seen in April, however, when sales dropped a whopping 49% year over year.
Sure and people can point out the hypocrisy of those posters too.
BTW, why are you so hung up on negative Tesla news only? This is an EV thread. Funny it’s the only thing you post, isn’t it?
Why are you so hung up on positive Tesla news only ? This is an EV thread.
See how that works ?
Tesla was THE leading brand and essentially
brought the EV to life. So yeah, when the EV icon hits a big skid it is big news.
If you’ll fairly review all my postings, you will find that’s not true I only post negative things about Tesla. I’ve posted about other EV manufacturers, battery development, and charging infrastructure, mineral resources, and other EV related things. I’m pro EV and think it is the future. It’s just the last 6 months,
Tesla, the former EV king, has had a lot of bad things happen that are news worthy.
Sure, but be specific in what is hypocrisy and
what are actually verifiable factual events.
Tesla, via their CEO, is the one that got political first and went way way overboard, more than any other company I can think of. Their huge drop in sales is why that’s generally a no no in business.
Too bad really.
But you’re ignoring the core of the issue.
It doesn’t matter if he went too far.
What matters is that he supported an institution that assaults any type of support for EVs, so why does Elon do this? → because automakers not named Tesla need massive subsidies to even get the ball rolling at scale. Tesla already has both infrastructure as well as a target demographic that keeps the stock price up… well they did at one point.
Tesla is not a working mans brand. Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc… are brands for the working class, and until they get the necessary subsidies, you will see them sell mostly ICE and Hybrids. These brands are only selling EVs in the tens of thousands. To get more on the lot and on roads, we need more subsidies!!!
When subsidies go up, Tesla will lose market share. It’s that simple
There is value for everyone in having less poison/pollutants in water, air and land.
It shouldn’t be too hard to put a dollar amount on it but there are costs like in medical bills etc. that are calculable, not to mention depletion of a unique non-manufacturable resource used for things other than fuel considerations.
But is there actual value?
If that were true, then we would have a carbon tax.
Fact of the matter is that most people globally will not really feel the affects of rising temperatures until it starts to affect the economy itself.
Insurance companies pulling out of certain regions in America is already taking place, but it’s not enough where it will disrupt the entire real estate market… yet
Rising temperatures add stress to the agriculture and construction industries, and at the rate we’re going, these industries will be severely impacted causing a catalyst of damage to the economy
FYI, GM is already at 62,000 for first 5 months of the year. On track to top
100,000 for the year, pending no policy change. $34k for entry level for a SUV.
GM has already delivered more than 62,000 EVs in the US through May, with last month being the second-best in the automaker’s history for EV sales.
How many did they sell in Europe? Huh?
I dunno, why don’t you tell us ? I did see they are now claiming to be the number 1
EV brand in Canada.
Some interesting charging news …Costco might go all in …and look how fast the first one was done.
“Electric Era provided Costco with six EV fast charging stalls in just 54 days. These charging stalls are capable of recharging a battery by up to 80% of its total capacity in 20 to 60 minutes. So, folks using these chargers could theoretically park their vehicles in a Costco parking lot, shop, and return to an EV that has a replenished battery.”
