Do you guys use windows? Bill Gates was all over the Epstein files, thus you must boycott his products.
BTW, hereâs something interesting. California now is importing oil from the Bahamas, I wonder if those guys that hate on EVs will consider this using their âcradle to graveâ logic.
I do not.
Point of order. If my laptop is 10+ years old thus purchased prior to Epstein revelations. As long as I donât upgrade to Windows 11 via new laptop or renew my Office subscription which has been expired for a hot minute. Iâm ethically good right?
Donât ask me how that works, I donât subscribe to nonsense, ask those posters that care about such things.
Bill has no products anymore; he has been long gone from Microsoft. And back in the day, there was no other option for a generic
OS that had all the office tools. Linux is/was
a free competitor if you used centos, but thatâs
mostly used in scientific computing. And too,
Bill never went out actively campaigning.
But no, Iâd not let Bill hang with my underage
girls if i had any.
Oh so youâre saying you chose the BEST PRODUCT regardless of all the other options. I see. Hmmm.
I, on the other hand, do not buy products from those that think itâs funny to do nazzy salutes and steal our info under the guise of gubmint work.
Windows was and is the only real business OS out there. So itâs in a real
sense the only option. I never considered windows the best product in the category of an operating system.
But Iâm not convinced in EVs Tesla is the best option anymore. And then
you throw all the CEOâs shenanigans ( too kind of a word) in, and you have the
current situation.
Youâre machinations was expected.
You lost me Norb; not sure what point youâre trying to make. Thread is not about me, FormerShasta, or anyone else. Musk has largely sabotaged his own car company business.
Not innovating, no new product models or even new versions of existing models, and taking unpopular political positions with a large portion of your potential customer base is not savvy business practices.
It looks like Tesla now wants to be a robotics, AI, cybercabs (no steering wheel or pedals), solar cell, grid battery company. Cars seem like an after thought and not
the main focus. I hate he has done that to Tesla. But he is the genius.
If you want to tack the Epstein scandal on Bill Gates and Elon Musk, thatâs fine
with me. They both have some explaining to do in that adventure as well.
Are we talking EVs or people you guys hate? Tesla had the best selling car in California, btw, for like 5 years in a row. You know, super left leaning California. Whatâs that tell you?
It tells me to keep your mouth shut and not focus on politics
if you are the CEO.
Toyota has been the top seller in California for the 10th year in a row, according to the CNCDA reports dating back to 2016. Behind them for 2025 sales were Honda with 194,343 new units sold and Tesla with 179,656. Honda overtook Tesla as the second-best-selling automaker from the year prior.
âCalifornia generally looks favorably on import brands. Toyota has been number one for a long time. I think theyâve done a good job of producing vehicles that are reliable, relatively affordable and desirable among consumers. Itâs not a surprise their market share grows,â Maas said. âEspecially in light of the political dynamics (associated with Tesla), you can find whatever kind of vehicle you want in the Toyota lineup.â
New CA Car Registrations By Automaker (2025)
- Toyota: 322,068
- Honda: 194,343
- Tesla: 179,656
- Ford: 138,266
- Chevrolet: 114,125
This is a great piece.
The question still remains, how can the EV market increase sales in the mass market
For me to buy an EV, I need longer distance and much shorter recharge times. I like driving 400 miles, stopping to refill and be on the road in 10 minutes. Right now, my next vehicle (not a truck) will be a hybrid.
The idea that mass-market EVâs will ever be equivalent to ICE vehicle range, to me, is a fallacy.
It will never happen.
The other issue is that EV charging stations still receive much of their power from natural gas.
I think making such a difinitive statement is a fallacy. Iâd say it is unlikely to happen without a major technological leap. I donât know that anyone is truly looking to make that leap though.
