I guess I check all of the boxes. I have a 2021 Tesla Model 3, a 2018 Ford Edge, and a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am.
Not a Texan. No pick up truck
I went from an Infiniti Q50 to a 2021 Tesla Model 3. The sticker price was about the same. The total cost of ownership of the Tesla is much lower. No gas, no oil changes, no brake jobs. The only maintenance is washer fluid and tires. Iām sure Iāll have the occasional front end alignment like all other cars. Due to regenerative braking, Iāll never have to buy brake pads. For 2023 Iāve saved approximately a net of $2,000 in gas. Thatās taking into consideration the average price of gas and how much it costs to charge my car. My charging is free since I use a free nights plan.
How long does it take you to charge it?
Have you had an accident in your car? Even a minor one.
I donāt know and it doesnāt matter. It charges overnight for freeā¦for freeā¦for free (in my best basketball PA voice).
Yes, I have had 2 minor accidents. One was not my fault and it cost me a grand total of $0.00 since the other guy was insured. The other accident was also not my faultā¦it was my wifeās. That cost me $500, which is my deductible.
You are correct. The planet will be just fine but pollution, increased atmospheric CO2 are without a doubt, harmful to humans (and lots of other species for that matter except for maybe algae and jellyfish) living on this planet.
Then thereās the renewable and not renewable angle, meaning transition (weaning, if you will) not ⦠anything ⦠done ⦠overnight.
EVs are just too damn liberal. Thatās the main problem with most people, I wanna bet.
51 really trying hard to believe/justify his media consumption. lol.
Buy one. Buy 10, I donāt care what you do with your money.
But donāt say you are green and look at me I am helping saving the planet. No you are not. You just drive short distances, you donāt have to worry about filling up and you are happy about making Elon Musk and the Chinese rich and you can afford a second ICE vehicle for longer distances.
You sure seem like you care.
This is from the EPA, so you probably donāt think its real, but Foxnews is!
Myth #1: Electric vehicles are worse for the climate than gasoline cars because of power plant emissions.
- FACT: Electric vehicles typically have a smaller carbon footprint than gasoline cars, even when accounting for the electricity used for charging.
Myth #2: Electric vehicles are worse for the climate than gasoline cars because of battery manufacturing.
- FACT: The greenhouse gas emissions associated with an electric vehicle over its lifetime are typically lower than those from an average gasoline-powered vehicle, even when accounting for manufacturing.
EVs are better for the environment. Completely green? No. Better? Yes.
Straw man. Are EVs WORSE for the environment? Probably not. Better for the environment? No. Definitely not.
I think youāre confused. Itās ok, keep believing what your media tells you, and key a Tesla if itll make you feel better.
Oh heck no, that would total the Tesla.
One less Elon mobile. Thatās right up your disinformation beliefs.
Btw you sure are posting like you still care.
Implications of Climate Change for the U.S. Military
DOD Directive (DODD) 4715.21, āClimate Change Adaptation and Resilience,ā took effect in 2016 and outlines department policy, roles, and responsibilities related to climate change. The directive defines climate change as
variations in average weather conditions that persist over multiple decades or longer that encompass increases and decreases in temperature, shifts in precipitation, and changing risk of certain types of severe weather events.
DODās Climate Risk Analysis report concludes that these variations could produce climate hazards such as sea or glacial ice retreat, rising sea levels, flooding, drought, extreme heat, wildfires, and tropical cyclones. Each of these hazards in turn holds implications for international security. For example, drought could lead to inadequate water supplies and adverse impacts on agricultural production. This could increase competition for, or conflict over, natural resources in affected areas. Flooding could damage critical infrastructure and displace populations, which could in turn cause mass migration or political crises. DOD notes that such hazards could ā[reshape] the geostrategic, operational, and tactical environments with significant implications for U.S. national security and defense.ā
