Moving to electric vehicles will dull recessions currently inflated by oil

Or alternate headline, More Than 50% of EVs Tested Exceeded Estimated Range !

I’ve heard complaints from Lightning owners about how crappy the distance is. A friend said if he pulls a trailer he has to charge at the end of the block. Obviously an exaggeration but hard to justify it for pulling a RV anywhere in the distance.

Its the same for gas cars, but of course EV’s are targeted…

The 2005 review showed that CR’s tests on 274 vehicles (90 percent) delivered lower fuel economy than reported on the EPA label with an average difference of 3.3 MPG or 10.3 percent.

Conspiracy Broadcasting System?

So in the past ICE automakers fudged their numbers by about 10%. Fords EV missed their
mileage estimate by 14%.

To be fair, I guess we’d need to research how many ICE vehicles under reported their mileage
numbers like the majority of EVs tested that exceed their estimated range.

Would you buy an EV if you found out it really isn’t green and it doesn’t help the planet?

Seriously is there any reason to buy an EV other than you think you are helping the planet?

If gas got high enough I would consider a hybrid

How high?

Don’t know. When I go to the pump and when I finish I say to myself “shyte, that’s too much”.

Do you think people only buy EVs to save the planet? You’re brainwashed.

Ok walk me through the economics of why you would….ahemm assuming that the “EV is green” is a myth (it really is a myth).

ICE vehicles perform similarly. Personal experience, very best Hwy numbers I can get is just
a hair of 20/mpg on my 2018 truck. Pull trailers and I average 8-9 mpg. Or I get only about 42.5% of
best range.

If you got a Ford, that has listed range of 300 miles, I’d expect a towing range of about 127 miles with a trailer. Since nobody intentionally drives to complete discharge, assume 80% safety margin, and you have an effective range of about 100 miles. Sorry your friend didn’t understand the math
prior to buying.

Ok take both vehicles to their limits…how long does it take to fully charge each of them.

There was a tutorial posted by norbert (?) on the economics a few weeks ago. The economics are there.

As to non economic reasons, there is performance and excitement ! We … build …excitement …
Pontiac !

In that case of refueling/recharging ICE is a winner if that’s all YOU care about.

If YOU only CARE about furthering Elon Musk’s lies…buy an EV, I don’t care what you do with your money.

But it is an inferior product and it is being sold to save the planet when it doesn’t do anything of the sort. It makes Elon Musk and the Chinese wealthier.

Isn’t that enough?

But yea, pocketbook maybe too.

It would be enough if it were true. It is not true.
