We don’t know how much Francis or Tugler will improve by next season. But while some of the guys are downing Francis, look at his stats in comparison with the rest of the team (I am not listing Shead’s due to lack of PT).
Cryer: 39 Min, 15 Pts. 7 of 14 FG, 1 of 3 from the 3, 0 of 0 FTs
Roberts: 29 Min, 13 Pts. 5 of 9 FG, 0 of 0 from the 3, 3 of 8 FTs
Sharp: 36 Min, 7 Pts. 2 of 7 FG, 0 of 2 from the 3, 3 of 3 FTs
Francis: 34 Min, 7 Pts. 3 of 6 FG, 0 of 0 from the 3, 1 of 4 FTs
Walker had 3, Dunn, Wilson, and Shead all had 2 pts and that was all the scoring. I would say that complaints about Francis is unwarranted.
I hate the whole u didn’t beat anyone narrative in the NCAA tournament. They said the same thing about us a few years ago during our Final 4 run or whatever that was. NC State has been on fire. Just in the last couple weeks they have taken down Duke, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Marquette, Virginia and more. It’s not fair to play a team like that and win and have others sit there and call them an easy win
Look how much Roberts has improved offensively, goes left or right to basket now, is deadly off of the glass, why can’t Francis learn some moves down low and shake and bake lol
Big men have to adapt to teams shifting to more 3 point and perimeter play the past 10 years.
I’m not surprised that Roberts has improved since he gets many 1 v 1 situations down low.
He also scored 40 points and led his team to the final four with a good chance to win a title
I don’t know if Francis will ever be a scorer so hopefully we have a guard who can draw a crowd and give him chances at alley oops.
I cringe every time he launches that left hand hook
I have no doubt Tugler will and hoping Francis will.
Tugler has good form and will eventually be shooting treys.
Just hoping Francis can learn to take the ball down low and hit layups without turning the ball over
