I didn’t think to much of Holmes of Dayton when we saw him in SC.
What did you think of Missi from Baylor?
Big project, not my ideal player in the NBA. Probably end up in Europe. Just my two cents. I do like Walker a lot.
In short… he’s very raw but a crazy upside with his defense. He has some crazy blocks and dunks in college. If he develops well he should be a shot blocker/lob threat
At least my 2nd fave team drafted Clingan
Sreal ror the Lake Show with Knecht
Should have stayed one more year
Sheppard wasn’t selected because of PG skills, he was selected because of his shooting skills.
The ability to create, handle the ball play defense on top of being an elite shooter is why he was picked as high as he was.
Sheppard is extremely undersized and his athleticism is only okay.
Our main hope with him is that he grows some more, puts on some muscle and can get a shot off.
I personally preferred either trading down or drafting Kenecht from TN or the guard from UConn.
Edy actually intrigued me somewhat. I could see him being a bust or being really awesome, like a 22/12 guy for 10 years.
He has a 42’ inch vertical and testing well athletically…
My understanding regarding his vertical wad that those numbers were fudged. It was more like 36 inches.
He had a 42" vertical at the combine, how is that fudged?
He reminds me a lot of Mark Price (Georgia Tech/CLE).
He did play back up PG with Dillingham as the SG off the bench. And the few games he started he was dominant vs Miss St & Tenn. on the road.
That is what I said, but from what I read it appears that he used some arm technique that made it look like he jumped higher.
Look 36 in vertical is nothing to be ashamed of. If he can get his shot off in the NBA, he will be an asset. However his size and speed will make him a defensive liability, and Ime is big on that. So not sure how many starters minutes he will see. I predict valuable bench guy, scoring like 15 pts a game. Basically JJ Reddick. BTW, Reddick had a long career in the league and just became HC of the Lakers, so that is not bad.
Jamal was never going to be a first round pick because of his height and lack of elite shooting. He can be A+ in some things like leadership and toughness but in the end the NBA is first and foremost a tall person shooter’s league that projects stars and draft spots based on things Jamal just doesn’t have
I agree, a point guard that shot 29% from three got selected as a lottery, but he was 6’6.
@EastCoastCoog I think that all but seals no Rockets for Jamal, can’t see them going two 6’0 guards.
Can you point me to where you saw that? I searched and came up empty.
Here is a video of his combine leap. Not sure what arm technique is weird about this.

OK, finally found something. The theory is someone can purposely diminish their standing reach, and thus increase your vertical.
