Kent State has a good chance tonight. Their only other loss was Charleston by 2.
UT is the 3rd ranked team in Texasā¦who saw that coming?!
NCAA NET has never been an issue. Top 5 finish on last three Selection Sundays (excluding Covid year).
Maybe this year the Committee will actually seed us according to NET.
I think we will have to win at least one of the two between Ala and Virginia to be in consideration for 1 seeding. We lose both, we are guaranteed to be from 2-4.
If those are the only games we lose? Even ignoring the conference tourney, thereās no way we finish the regular season at 29-2 and end up a 4 seed. The only chance of that happening is if our 2 losses are to ECU and USF. Or we lose to Bama and Virginia and those 2 teams both end up with 10+ losses. This season feels like our floor is a 2 seed.
Agreed. Tbh, I was more upbeat with a much higher expectation from our offense. I knew our defense will be elite but less then optimal offense at this point and not same level of offensive rebounding we are used to, puts us in a precarious position for scoring. I sincerely hope that Sasser is fine and can perform. But sadly, he is taking some beating physically - one thing or another.
A few things Iāve noted offensively:
-
We all know what Sasser can do. Heās had a slow shooting start to the season, but that seems to be coming around. Thankfully heās scoring in other ways.
-
Sheadās floater has been money until this year. I fully expect it to start falling soon.
-
Iām wondering if the potential lottery pick expectations are too much for Jarace. He seems to be playing really tight. If CKS can convince him to loosen up a bit, heāll be able to completely take over games.
-
I have been SUPER impressed with JāWanās offensive improvement. He has been scoring with relative ease over much taller players in the post. That lefty baby hook over his right shoulder is sweet!
-
The next person who feeds a pass to JaāVier below the rim when heās in the paint should have to run laps for 24 hours straight.
We really need Jarace to improve.
And Tramon and Arceneaux. I just donāt feel with the exception of Roberts and Chaney anybody else is where they need to be offensively. Sasser is probably there but his inconsistency and physical nicks are bothering. So, yes, we have long ways to be offensively optimal.
We were obviously spoiled by Taze last season. His dunks.
Been suprised a little bit with Jaraces vertical. Hes a very good athlete. But not freaky athletic
Sharp showed improved D and court awareness in spurts last night. His shot could be important later in the season. Glad he got extended minutes
No bad losses.
Two things . . . . . one - it is early in the season . . . . . two - the starting 5 are not playing as many minutes as in the past, so their offensive numbers are not as high . . . . . IMHO . . . . .
