Not sure Jackson State is a prime example of a player passing up a big name school coach and NIL for a smaller school.
Nebraska is just going to become a school in the plains as an afterthought. They will be like lowa. Osborne had many advantages back then with the first weight program and back then it was a running style of smash mouth that won games. It’s now passing etc.The ship has sailed on Nebraska and we have a good as chance as them now. No country ships, partial qualifiers, no weight program ahead of others and no Tom Osborne.
They will have to go the Miami route of the 80s if they want to be big time again.
Great metaphor, yet as a Hawkeye, saddening.
Why not? Is Jackson State a big time school?
Or, is it a reference to the presence of “Prime Time”?
Campbell makes the most sense.
Deion Sanders shows they are getting very high recruits, NIL deals and have a big name coach. Thus not the same example as someone going to Sam Houston for more playing time instead of FSU or Georgia.
Okay but Nebraska still recruited T-25 recruiting classes under Frost despite sucking. Younget a big time coach in there and theres plenty to build on.
