4 guaranteed each for B1G and SEC
and
2 guaranteed each for Big XII and ACC
???

Make this make sense! :smirk:

Any system built upon built-in subjective bias is no bueno in my opinion. No way this flies or meets smell test.

I think I read somewhere that Yormark was not on board with giving the B1G and SEC so many guaranteed spots and was negotiating his vote for more guaranteed spots for the B12.

For that alone, Yormark deserves his contract extension.

I agree

Maybe 3 to 2

Actually I’m for this because 2 auto bids for the big12 is good yr in and yr out. There are 3 at large to go to another deserving g5 or any or us.

You have to think like this. The sec and big10 basically brought on the best of the big12 and pac12 so they want more spots and us getting 2 guaranteed vs the bs of hoping we get 1 spot like last yr is a good deal. BY always wanted the 2 guaranteed spots and if this holds true it’s a good deal.

If we object then it becomes a free for all and I’m sure the committee still favors and gives the sec and big10 3 to 4 each anyway then we have to fight it out with the Acc and a g5 undefeated team or 2 .

Gotta know it’s a good deal as best we can get and I think it’s good considering the mess of hoping each yr. There is no way the sec okays just 3 of them and 2 for us.

I’m cool with it.

Big and SEC run the land.

Big 12 gets 2 spots plus likely one of the three at-large spots.

Our third place team should be better than the BIG’s 5th place team or we don’t deserve a third spot anyway.

Notre Dame will be automatic every single year and the G6 will get one automatic.

Would that leave one more At-Large?

When someone tells you who they are, listen.

When someone tells you who you are, fugg 'em.

Yeah this is whack… how many SEC teams gotta get bounced in the 64 and 12 team playoffs is it gonna take before the bias stops?

Let me reveal the man behind the curtain…

The reason the SEC has so many quad 1 wins and “quality losses”, is because of preseason rankings placing 2/3rds of the SEC in the top 25.

Ill bet everything Florida Gators will be in the preseason top 25 next season off a 8-5 season.

and the football transfer portal ratings for anyone going to SEC or BIG are hot garbage.

It’s all about the money. ESPN gave it to the BIG and SEC, and therefore are now partners with them.

They have a vested interest in forcing the rest of us to watch them play whether we want to or not.

If the government really wants to regulate something, why don’t they regulate that?

Recruiting rankings have always taken into account who the player is being recruited by. It’s actually better than it used to be. Prior to social media, recruiting experts relied on watching games live or on film, interviews with players and coaches and what schools were recruiting the player. There is so much content available now, the rankings are based more on measurables and performance rather than schools recruiting. Not surprisingly though, the higher rated recruits do favor the name brands, irrespective of NIL.

I think the transfer portal rankings are worse than what we used to deal with even with all the content available. HS ranking are probably better but the transfer rankings are so intentionally skewed it is fraudulent .

After last year I almost think 12 teams is too many. Too small a sample size to decide on though so we’ll see what happens.

I won’t even comment on the lameness of guaranteeing 4 teams out of any one conference.

If they’re guaranteeing multiple bids for a conference, they should just eliminate conference championship games and have Pro-style conference playoffs. Something like

Round of 16:

Game 1: SEC #4 @ SEC #1

Game 2: SEC #3 @ SEC #2

Game 3 (Big 12 Championship): Big 12 #2 @ Big 12 #1

Game 4: Wild Card #4 @ Wild Card #1

Game 5: Big Ten #4 @ Big Ten #1

Game 6: Big Ten #3 @ Big Ten #2

Game 7 (ACC Championship): ACC #2 @ ACC #1

Game 8: Wild Card #3 @ Wild Card #2

Quarterfinal:

SEC Championship: G1 Winner vs G2 Winner

Cotton Bowl: Big 12 Champion vs G4/G8 Winner

Big Ten Championship: G5 Winner vs G6 Winner

Orange Bowl: ACC Champion vs G4/G8 Winner

Semifinal:

Sugar Bowl: SEC Champion vs Cotton/Orange Winner

Rose Bowl: Big Ten Champion vs Cotton/Orange Winner

National Championship:

Rose Bowl Winner vs Sugar Bowl Winner

Note: bids that are not tied to a conference would be assigned according to seeding

Hell to the NO!

How is giving them not just preferential treatment, we’re talking loads of :moneybag: of the hard and cold variety. Think dollars per game and who that goes to.

How is this objective or fair? How about rational?

Just have a CFP Selection Sunday and let the committee decide. It will still be B1G & SEC privileged but at least it has a chance of being fair unlike that :poop: of a proposal.

When has college sports ever been any of those things?

Never but that’s beside the point.

It’s putting unfairness on paper and that ain’t right. Let it remain under the table where it belongs.
