New details emerge on potential College Football Playoff expansion, level of

The problem is accounting for SOS when you compare all the football conferences and rewarding them for it. If we simply go by the polls which do reward undefeated teams a little more , you could have 3 or more teams from lesser conferences going undefeated like army almost did last yr taking spots. Now if we simply award conference champs a spot and do at large ones for the rest, the polls and corruption will happen and the sec and big10 will get a bunch in and the undefeated g5s will get in via the glamor of the polls. It will leave the big12 getting screwed by both g5 and the P2.

So I’m simply looking at it from SOS and in the big12 ‘s interest. I saw the big12 almost get screwed last yr bc of polls and sec SOS. We seemed to barely get Asu in. So I’m taking the best offer knowing how the game of politics work in football which is auto bids now that we’re a bigger dog conference.

Summary is :
-Polls will be flawed and screw us

-At large spots will be given to mostly sec and big10 anyway out of greed bc if open , they will cry for those spots each yr causing endless media drama.

-Autobids are the only way to make sure the big12 doesn’t get screwed and if we have 2 , it’s historically better than we’d ever hope to get. It also rewards sos over the g5 s or lesser conferences who simply go undefeated and use the polls to grab our spots.

So my point of view is from the big12 and SOS since we are now big12 and face a tougher schedule each yr vs a Tulane.

Top, i agree that 2 autobids plus a good shot at an open bid for Big 12 is a good deal for us. In a 16 team playoff, we figure to get 3, and thats fine. People can complain about SEC/BIG getting more bids, but they have more eyeballs and more money than us. ESPN/FOX are always going to make sure they get their bids. The key is for our league to have auto bids and keep them.
