When UH beats Tech…
…and I truly believe the Coogs will…
…even if it’s a 1 point win…
…the 3-0 Coogs “should” take Tech’s spot, and move ahead of 1-loss Oregon, and 1-loss Oklahoma.
If not, then I will call foul.
Not that any poll voters would be listening.
Never-the-less, I still feel as though there are only 2 polls that matter.
The Final CFP Poll deciding who makes the playoffs, and the final CFP Poll after every game is played for the 2026 season.

No movement for UH and Tech in AP.
Tech moved up after nearly losing to the team that we beat by a higher margin
We skunk southern
But we move down one spot in coaches poll
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

Tech played on the road and we played against NAIA competition. I was hoping we’d stand pat but this result is not unexpected.

I am feeling really good about a Coogs win this week.

We played Southern, who has been awful recently. If we’d played Montana or a better FCS and won by 20+ we might have moved up one spot.

From a polling perspective, UH did themselves no favors scheduling Southern University. However, from a longterm perspective, UH benefits immensely in preparation and growth, by giving younger players some snaps, and avoiding any injuries to key players. The negative talk of scheduling Southern U. will evaporate next week, especially if UH beats Texas Tech. The conversation will switch to “Nunez is a genius for scheduling Southern U. in preparation for Texas Tech.”

They scheduled the Southern game. April 2025.
Getting Texas Tech on the road, Week 3. You had no idea of that. All determined by the Big12.
We’ll see. If we come out rested and ready or asleep at the wheel Friday

I know Southern University wasn’t very good, but they are not NAIA, they are FCS.

If we beat tech, UH will be in playoff conversations already
Tech vs OSU got buried in saturdays slate
Friday has more exposure, and it’s good that tech won

No one immediately above us lost, unlike Miami moving up two slots because two teams ahead of them lost.
Just keep winning.

2 teams ahead of the Coogs DID lose, and Miami blew away a similar opponent, by a similar margin.

What matters is what WE do. We are in charge of our own destiny. It is a basic cliche but we are only as good as our next win.
