How did Granado H.S. and Burres P and UH commit do in state final?
Championship is 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Shiner plays right after at 1:00.
Ganado is 33-2-1 on the year. Our last loss was February 28th to 4a Sealy nearly 3 months ago. In 8 playoff games we have given up .5 runs a game or 4 total runs. We have scored 71 runs in 8 playoff games at nearly 9 runs a game. We aren’t even hitting the ball very good in the last month either. She went from a 2.72 era her freshman year to a 1.49 to a .89 this year. Hopefully next year it’ll be below .50.
The good thing is Bures is a junior so we have a real good chance to return for a 3rd year regardless of Thursday’s result. Bures does throw high sometimes so there is that to work on over the next year before getting to UH. We have played a number of 3a, 4a, and 5a teams. I think we even played a few 6a teams.

I went in person last year but can’t this year because my assistant already has the day off. Next year my district will be out of school May 20th. I won’t have an issue attending the state game if we are fortunate enough to return for a 3rd year in 2027.

NFHS announcers have given Bures and UH a shoutout several times.

Back to back state championships. Losing only 2 seniors and Bures returns next year. We’ll be loaded again.
Our fellow district opponent Shiner won 5-2 giving our district 2 state champions.

High school softball went to d1 and d2 in 2024 for the playoffs. There are 2 winners for each classification starting in 2024.
2a division 1 Ganado and Shiner is 2a division 2.
Shiner has played in 14 state finals and won their 8th today.
Weimar also in our district has played for 10 titles and won 6 championships.
Flatonia has played in 2 and won 2 also from our district.

So what style of pitcher is Bures? Is she a power pitcher or does she throw junk?
I’d say power because I don’t see her throw a bunch of offspeed. I am not well versed on softball pitching. I don’t know her fastest pitch but I think she has room to throw it faster.
