New UH Athletic Director, the search goes on

nope

Pretty easy when compared to a university you have NFL, NBA and MLB as your shirt logo

Already mentioned but Yormark should have some input.

Sampson says we need “Lewis and Clark”. Good analogy.

We definitely need to look outside the College Athletics box. I don’t really see how hiring another College AD will make much of a difference. Too many of these people are still stuck in the 1990’s; they spend more time complaining about how things are than dealing with it.

We need someone with connections to the business and entertainment world; who can build our brand, our fundraising, etc. We don’t need someone to come in here and reorganize deck chairs on the Titanic. We need a flip the script as we used to say.

If all Jeremiah Dickey, Lisa Campos or the others are going to do is find ways to charge students more fees and blast out mass fundraising emails, then just forget it.

If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got.

Steve Patterson’s name came up today

Campos and Dickey seem to be the most obvious and best candidates

Obvious, yes. Best? Remains to be seen. How much Lewis and Clark do they have in them? That needs to be fleshed out in the interviews.

As long as the new AD puts pressure on both Fritz and Sampson to win, I’m fine with whoever.

Former UT AD. Hard no I would think

He interviewed when they hired Rhodes

Middle school AD. Not available.

Let’s hire Mattress Mack!

That didn’t stop us when he was a middle school basketball coach

Patterson? Nooooooo! His father (Ray) traded away Elvin Hayes from the Rockets straight up for Jack Marin (who? Exactly.) That all by itself should disqualify him from having anything to do with UH!

On the one hand, Patterson was charged with finding new revenue sources for UT athletics. On the other hand, he alienated most BMDs and just about every other UT donor while he was at UT.

First question after pleasantries: “Mr. Patterson what is your plan for UH and how do you avoid a repeat of what happened at UT?”

Also, “Whose house?!?”

Got to make sure he knows.

Patterson would put us back in the stone age, hard pass. He seemed to fall into alot of high profile jobs and was always run off.

You have got to think, Reid Ryan or Oliver Luck may not want an AD position.

All quiet on the AD front. I would think they’re getting close. I like the Reid Ryan name drop.
