I prefer soft pretzels. Easier on the fangs.
So you really are a Cougar? That is pretty cool.
Would you be offended if we put you on a leash and let Funk or Jesse walk you around at games?

I thought I’d revive this thread and leave the “AAC Conference Tourney” thread for the tourney talk.
I hadn’t realized the following posted by someone in another thread…
"So just now seeing that Sean Allen was voted D1 assistant coach of the year for 2021.
Makes me want to puke seeing him wear that Whorn jersey.
Get rid of TW and bring Sean back where he belongs!!"
Just need some excitement inoculated into this program before heading into Big 12 territory.
Ditto, but if any 'sips give you any crap, you get to point out to them that their successful BB program is run by a couple of Coogs!
Sean Allen has been at the top of my list since I felt like a change needed to happen….
Someone I would feel really good about is Dan Heefner from DBU.
His body of work is worthy. I believe he has had DBU in the tournament like 10 of the last 11 years( and that’s in the WAC and MVC )
I think he would have UH at 40+ wins and NCAA’s faster than the blink of an eye.
Sterling reputation.
DBU’s strength of schedule in Warren Nolan’s RPI is #6. That’s something I’d like to see for UH.
I would co-sign Heefner as well. All day.
He put DBU on the map. Even made a super a few years ago, if I remember correctly.
No shortage of quality options. Absolutely zero reason to maintain a broken status quo with CTW.
Go Coogs

Again, all of this as an Independent, WAC, and MVC…Imagine what he could do as a BIG 12 member.
Sean Allen: former player/AC. A major contributor to David Pierce’s success at Sam, Tulane, & ut-austin.
Dan Heefner: Turned a program that would probably be happy with a top 100 RPI into a baseball power.
Patrick Hallmark: A career path similar to Pierce’s. AC’s to Wayne Graham (a lot of knowledge & connections). Passed over by their alma maters. Took “lesser” HC jobs and made immediate & significant improvement at each stop.
All have regional ties, a recruiting plus. No shortage of good choices.
It’s up to Pez now.
I believe Coach Heefner has stated that he has no desire to leave DBU as it fits his family and values. He’d be great but do not see him leaving DBU. I am all in on the Sean Allen train. If don’t make the move on him very soon, he’ll be gonzo.
Yeah, he is very faith based guy……but could probably be swayed for the right amount of money.
I don’t think Hallmark has proven enough to get the keys to a program like UH……although, I guarantee he would not overlook the talent in San Antonio.
That being said, Sean Allen would still be my first choice.
Baseball is DBU’s premier sport so he’s top dog on campus - does he come here to be third fiddle?
Hopefully he would for enough money.
Didn’t Baylor make a run at him?
Yes, he turned them down…. That was like 6-7 years ago…… Maybe his mind has changed…. I think it would have to be an offer that blew him away….
Whatever the case, there are definitely options and if a recent poster was correct regarding CTW’s contract, we’re in a financial position to make a move.
Noble was a man of faith along with being a former player and made the Coog program exciting for years!
just mąkę A move…sheesh!!! There’s no reason for us not to be more competitive!! We need help and I hope Pez sees it.
GO COOGS
Build a wall around the greater Houston area and take the best kids. These kids compete against each other all through high school and tournament ball. The idea of linking up with each other and joining forces for a local program with a rich history and great facilities is a major selling point to young players.
70% of our roster should be upper tier HOUSTON kids and filled in with the rest of the country.
These recruits wont come to you. Go see them at Baseball USA or wherever they play on the weekend and build that relationship. Start with the #1 prospect in town. Tell them they can go sit on the bench at UT or Aggy or start Day 1 at Houston. Word will get out and it will build from there. No excuse not to even be speaking to or offering the top kids. Go get em, because they arent going to knock on your door.
