Overall record at 10-6 isnt the worst thing, but thats against a pretty soft schedule. The Aggies are 10-5 against a similar or even worse schedule. Rice is sitting at 3-13 and cant hit water if they fell out of a boat.
So I guess you could say…at least were not Rice.
I wouldn’t be shocked if this team made a good run in conference and were a bubble team for the tournament. I also wouldn’t be shocked if the wheels completely come off and finish with 20’ish wins.
I agree with everything but the bubble team part…. If this team won 4o- 44 games I think the RPI will keep us from consideration…… as the season progresses some of these teams we have played are really gonna fall off the edge….multiple teams with plus 200 RPI’s.
Neither do I.
We need fresh blood heading into Big 12, it would be nice if that guy would have a year in advance before conference change.
Having said that.
If the team some how made a regional he would buy himself another year.
I’ve said before I think it would mean winning the conference tournament because I don’t think the RPI would be there even if they had a high number of wins.
I see the ceiling at 35-18 give or take a game before the conference tournament….I would say around 30ish of those games win or lose are against below average teams……being conservative.
If excitement means attendance, you have not been a Coog fan very long. Easy to throw darts from a distance. The last 10 games have been very impressive, sweeping UTRV, beating Rice and A&M. I was able to see the new baseball facility after the SMU basketball game and it was very impressive.
Actually he is correct…… if victories over UTRGV and Rice impress you then that’s great for you….but for most of us it does not.
Not quite sure what you mean by telling him he hasn’t been a fan long….quite the opposite….if you have been a Coog baseball fan for awhile then you should know this is not anywhere close to excitement when compared to where the program once was……beating LSU and Rice when Rice was top notch impressed me.
And again most of the baseball fans have been invested in the baseball program for many years and some of us have inside knowledge of a thing or two….so we can “throw darts” whenever we damn well please.

We’re into Year 12…1 Super and 1 game over .500 in Conference play…who actually thinks it’s going to get better going into Big 12 ? Really wish it was a different story and were planning the statue unveiling already
Another difference between baseball and football, is Holgerson inherited an awful shallow team. And so he built them up. Many of us (myself included at times) were impatient.
CTW has had success. I was waiting in the concession line the other day and looking at the big board of all the individual awards we’ve won. I almost forgot Joe Davis, and all those guys were only four years ago. It feels so far removed. He had success and lost it.
What is Todd’s record without Frank Anderson? 15 games under .500 through five full seasons and two partial seasons? 19 games under in Conference play?
We may drop even with a sweep….can not afford to drop even one game.

Only path to The Dance I can see is winning AAC Tourney as only ranked team played this season is TCU ( 10-0 L ) AAC baseball is having rough season, at this point will be doing good to get a 2nd team in
There was a ton of smoke about ECU this year and being a potential CWS team….I think mast pre-season polls had them in top 10….
I don’t keep up with them so I really don’t know what has happened to them this year.
