What?!
This is the first I’m hearing of this!
That’s crazy!!!
Sounds like a rule that a clever law firm could challenge in court. How can you trademark a color? We have talented attorneys on this site and it would be good to hear from them.
There’s this cool thing where you can click on the football forum link and do a 10 second scan for other topics to see if someone else already started a thread on this.
The city of Houston uses blue as its official color (though a different shade)
As long as UH wants to pay homage to the city and its history, there should be an easy way to defend this. Just don’t use the entire uniform design with matching stripes and patterns.
I would say boycott NFL, but I don’t watch them anyway, so moot point for me.
Who cares? It was a one time salute to the Oilers.
Our colors are red and white. End of story
I agree.
I do think Cal McNair should call Amy Adams and ask how much it would take to let the Texans take over the colors.
I won’t be upset if we never wear them again, it’s just the players liked them that made me happy.
They haven’t used the Oiler uniforms for what? 20 years?
Use it or lose it NFL!
Exactly!
The Titans are so attached to the colors and logo this is the first time in 20 years they have used them.
It’s only an issue bc UH was the first to roll them out this year and beat them to it with the wow factor
That will happen when the devil complains it’s too cold down here in hxll.
Those are the official colors of the city of Houston, the Titans do not own them.
UPS Brown is trademarked, so a delivery company can’t use a similar brown.
If the Titans hold the trademark for a certain blue, then it would depend on how much the blue was alike. If it’s just the blue they have a trademark on, then Rice shouldn’t be allowed to wear it just because they had gray helmets and a navy stripe on the uniform. That just proves it’s a lame case.
The Adams family (dum duh dumdum) has long refused to sell the Texans the Oilers history. It’s personal to them. Won’t change until that family sells the Titans.
Question:
How did the McNair family get the “Texans” name from the Kansas City Chiefs franchise?
