Nah, their basic plan is $89.99/mo which includes ESPN Unlimited after a 1st month at $49.99.
For people who live in Texas outside the Houston area who want to watch the Rockets and/or Astros, the only options are Fubo and DTV Stream. And Fubo makes you chase another subscription if you want to watch TNT, TBS, etc., and that’s dumb and irritating.
I had DirecTV Stream in the past, and it worked fine on a different TV with an external Roku. We switched to YouTube TV when we discovered they had the channels we watched and (at the time) it costs a bit less.
Today, I called DirecTV to ask about getting DirecTV Stream and what the price would be, and they said $109. While talking with them, we discovered the issue with our LG WebOS TV not having their app. I decided to look around. Even my dad’s church in the boondocks has an app he can get on our TV.
I’d have gone with the web price also, like I said, I liked DirecTV Stream when I had it. Only reason I called was because I wasn’t sure if I’d get the discounts since I was a previous subscriber.
The DTV salesman later said some models don’t have their app. We bought this about six months ago, so you’d think an old app like DirecTV Stream would be on it.
Disney is trying to create a monopoly in the streaming business. Screw them. I hope You Tube just let’s people stream ESPN games. That is the way to fight back.
I put my YouTube TV subscription on hold for six months. I’ll see what happens.
Hulu starts with a low quality picture and has times it just goes blank and says “network error” in the middle of games. It reminds me of when we had DirecTV Satellite and the sky turned gray.
