No meeting with PAC schools after all

He used to do the AAC Daily podcast. His allegiance is Cincinnati so now talks about both.

My guess is that he’s echoing Swaim here, rather than operating off his own sources.

I know how to google and got various things from a Rice student and a bunch of tweets. That’s not very informative. If someone had relevance, it would be appreciated, snarky replies, not so much.

???

You obviously give the Pac schools full sharing from Day 1. It’s a no brainer.

They give them full share UH and the other 3 deserve full share to, BYU I think feels the sameway

We’re getting a step up in money either way. Can’t let this be a deal breaker.

I hope our admins make our case, like their making theirs.shouldn’t accept being treated like a redheaded stepchild

I’m fine with allowing the Four Corners schools to start out with full shares. This is a strategic move that will benefit us.

Let’s settle it on the field. Starting in 2023, Big 12 programs over .500 in conference play get 100% media rights, then start a depreciating scale below .500.

One thing the SEC got right everyone comes in making equal share day one B1G to

Okay, so thinking on it further, we are at 100% for the new TV contract, right? Three year phase-in and that’s the third year. MHver’s almost certainly made-up speculation is that they want 100% the first year of the new contract.

If that’s the case, then I’m fine with them getting 100% at that point, as long as we are. The rationale of the phase-in is that we didn’t “earn” the full TV share, which was negotiated without us. Starting in 2025, it will be the contract that reflects everybody’s value, including us and the corner schools and maybe other Pac teams. It’s fair that everyone gets 100% even if it’s their first year in the conference and our third.

If they come over in 2024 and get 100% then while we’re still at 67% or whatever, then that’s a problem.

It’s a no brainer but greed takes over.

A ful share is an investment by the conference. I don’t know a single investor who doesn’t want to pump money into an investment In order to start getting a long term return. Partial shares simply provide a short term return.

NO WAY anyone from the Big 12 defects.
No one voluntarily jumps on a ship that’s going down."

Ok, is this the 10th or 15th time he’s written this? :joy:

We accepted our offer and the deal that went with it and was glad to get it. If the P12 teams can negotiate a better deal, then good for them. Remember they are in a stronger position than we were; they are making a lateral move, we made a significant move up.

I get it. But, IMO, if the PAC truly knew there were teams in the b12 that could move the TV money, they would leak that faster than a nanosecond. Not the specific teams, just the idea. That would throw the B12 in a tizzy and create massive suspicion between members. And anything that delays this is good for the PAC.

As long as their exit fee is on the OUT level.

In a basement bin of blogs and articles at least this one covers the whole waterfront. They are actually softening on the B12 a bit.
