Non-UH programs that you are a fan of (t-shirt fan)?

But seriously although I was briefly, very briefly a Texas T-shirt fan, my favs have been:

PV (my school)
Miami football
Duke basketball

Besides LSU you basically follow our arch enemies. Two of them with the PUF.
At least you are frank.

None.

But I’m taking the term “T-shirt” fan literally. I would NEVER wear another schools colors.

I definitely root for conference mates though.

There are schools I take an interest in losing, Boise St., Texas. The Big East in basketball.etc.

UH has always been number one in my heart. But I don’t hate the Horns. Living in Austin from 1995 to 2014 it was hard not to root for UT when they had guys like Vince Young, Ricky Williams, and Priest Holmes. While concurrently, the Coogs often sucked. Growing up it was Earl Campbell, Steve Worster, and James Street… Now I probably get a greater joy by watching them lose because so many of their fans (not all) are insufferable arrogant entitled pricks.

Michigan State. Coach Yeoman was there for 8 years before we hired him. Coach Sampson got his start there. And my dad is from East Lansing, grew up going to the games.

UT (except football, baseball, mens basketball and my kid knows it)

We didn’t get our colors from them.

Scarlet and White are our colors because they are found on the Houston (San Houston) family crest.

As for service academies, to be honest, I had to work with too many of their grads in my first career to cheer for them regularly.

That said, I try to root for Army in the Army-Navy game every year out of branch loyalty.

Also, I stream in the Secretaries’ Cup game (Coast Guard v Merchant Marine) every year and cheer for Merchant Marine; that’s by far my favorite service academy.

Other than that……as a guy who earned his Commission as an Army officer through ROTC….meh.

Kansas. Yes, football. Basketball secondarily because they’re so consistently good.

Why KU?

My first ever college football game was at KU in Lawrence, Kansas. And they freaking beat Oklahoma. Students tore down one of the goal posts and carried it down to the bar street. Thankfully, since I never went there I don’t have to live through any of the losses. I just celebrate the wins when they have them occasionally.

I like their logo & school colors.

Isn’t Auburn to Atlanta the same distance from A&M to Houston?

I drove by it on the way to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl back at the end of 2015.

When I was very young and playing sandlot football and baseball, we would pick teams, and one would would always be Whorn and the other Agy. I would cry if I didn’t get to play for the Whorn bunch because they were getting very good in the early '60s, winning a title in '63.
Looking back, we were just all stupid kids lol…

Only if my life depended on having another team to support it would be Valdosta State University.
