On a lighter note, Fritz has already undone a lot of damage Dana and Major inflicted

Personally, I don’t think so.

I believe (as much as I hate to say it) that Tech would hold up, compete & possibly win against those teams.

If those teams would rip their arms off, then that means the very best the Big 12 has to offer is lightyears away from the top SEC & Big 10 teams.

I think TTU would beat UT right now regardless of venue. I don’t think TTU would win at Kyle.

Buckeyes, Canes, Dawgs, Tide?

Fugettaboutit…

I tell why they left a terrible mark to our program. It is called recruiting. Why is it that a Levine could have much better recruiting classes than applesauce and DH? That in itself set our program back years. It is 100% on them. HCWF is rebuilding this roster from scratch. That in itself is major undertaking.

I checked a few of them at the end of the game last night but most were cool…

D’eriq was going to be benched if they had not decided to redshirt him, he had terrible accuracy issues that year if memory serves me. Also I believe Dana was the one who pushed him to redshirt, D’eriq was the one that added the transferring to it, but that sure has taken hold around the nation.

I went to that Tulane game in New Orleans, D’eriq’s final game, we lead 28-7 before Tulane came roaring back to tie it and Fritz ran a fake knee with 18 seconds left to set up the 53 yard touchdown pass to win… what a gut punch. King was 16/33 (48.5%) and a few of his misses were really bad, I ran into Tune’s dad in the airport when I was flying home and we discussed King’s accuracy issues, and he told me the whole quarterback room was perplexed at why he was struggling so much. That night they announced the redshirt.

He also tore his meniscus in that game I believe.

In hindsight we found that King struggled because Dana was a buffoon.

How so…our game vs Texas was way more competitive

The Tide? The team that got rolled by Florida State? The same Florida State team that lost to Virginia and Miami at home? Miami led 28-3 in the 4th quarter before getting bored.

The SEC is 3-4 versus currently ranked non SEC teams. It’s the best league but not by much.

We don’t have time to be “rebuilding” in the Big 12 especially with an expanded playoff.

The point of joining the Big 12 was to make the playoffs, not just be happy with making a bowl game.

T, you can’t say that without me thinking of the famous, or infamous, Art Briles comment when he was hired “We are on a 5 year plan; we are on a 5 minute plan.”

He’s suspended, I liked that guy. He had some thoughtful takes, thought he was an asset

You could say Fritz teams refuse to play offense. Coogs under Dana up 21-7 on Tech in 2021 at half and 30-33 OT loss at Tech.

Refuse? Did you see how much roster turnover Fritz dealt with in his first season? Transfers accounted for 86.3% of the starts, and it’s not like he was bringing in highly rated talent. The offense struggled because of it, finishing 9th in both yards and scoring last year.

Dana’s offenses were usually middle of the pack in the American, outside of 2022 when they finished 3rd. Then, in his one Big 12 season, the offense ranked 12th out of 14 teams.

This year is completely different. The offense actually has high-end talent and all the pieces needed to put up big numbers. They’re 17th nationally in returning production and the only Big 12 team bringing back the same starting QB, head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator.

I do not know about you all but think of where we have been since the SWC days. HCWF is the exact opposite to what we have known for decades. How many students, alums, UH fans know about stability? How unknown is this to so many of us? We are incredibly fortunate to have this coaching staff.

Yes and stability in Fandom is important to program success as well. Over the years we have gained the trust and support of our fans only to have a string of bad years and break that trust. It takes time for fans to begin trusting again which is difficult to do.
I am ready to trust our program again so… Let’s go Coogs !
