OSU Series

BYU win, Kansas win, and winning a big 12 series against tech (i think) were definitely the highlights of this season

What are you talking about? Tech bludgeoned UH for three games, scoring 39 runs.

Started out 4-1 in Big 12 by sweeping Baylor and taking a game at BYU, and then won 3 more games in conference. No highlights at all. And Baylor and BYU didn’t make Big 12 tourney!!

Started 4-0 in the Big 12. Beat UT at home.

Won the series against SHSU and UTA and beat Lamar. We could’ve won the Southland.

If he is back IM DONE!

I haven’t heard a final word, but I just get the feeling he is coming back. I hope I am wrong!!

I said essentially the same thing last year. Excluding the covid year, 2024 is the first year I haven’t attended a single game since the late 1980’s. I survived, and will again in 2025 if Pezman doesn’t pull his head out of his

You people really think that helps the program? What about the kids?

Coaches will come and go when they come and go

What about the kids?

Well they shouldn’t come either

NOBODY is developing and getting BETTER!

The players that have been here put up worse numbers

and the highly rated recruits under perform and don’t get better.

If I was a parent today I would not send my kid

and as a coach of mostly D-1 level showcase players I will not point any kids UH’s way until TW is gone

it simply would not be in the kids best interest.

I do think it helps the program. I think it sends the message that many of us aren’t satisfied with the direction the program has taken and that a change is long overdue.

It’s pretty obvious only major donors move the needle for coaching changes. Even when I had baseball season tickets they were dirt cheap. Baseball is not a moneymaker for UH.

It doesn’t have to make money like football or basketball
.not one female sport is a “moneymaker “

does that mean we should just sit and suck forever ? No, you make changes to get better
.the big two along with conference money pay for them.

But baseball, though not a “moneymaker “ is the one sport other than the big two that can at least pay for itself
.you have obviously not been around when that stadium is full every week and hosting regionals
.it takes a good coach to develop and lead a great program

sitting around and saying there has to be a “big money” donor come forward that wants to get rid of a poor coach is bush league.
I’m dead serious if that is the case then shut the damn thing down
.
It would be one thing if the program was middle of the pack year after year
.but not even making your own conference tournament after four previous years of hot garbage is pathetic.

I think it was “Big” that suggested ( sorry if I forgot others) moving TW into a position where his job is to fundraise.

I’m not saying a coaching change shouldn’t happen. I’m just saying crying on this board or not attending the games will not make it happen.

You were 100% convinced CTW would be fired what 2-3 years ago? Remember that? He’s still here.

College baseball tickets prices keep the lights on & grass mowed.
Season tickets holders spend the cost of tickets by 5-10th game or so on drinks, etc.

Baseball at any level can be a “cash cow” but crowds need to be alot bigger for UH to get it going.

No mention to season ticket buyers of charging for what was free parking.
Its stupid in the long run to not give them that courtesy.
A scummy “bait and switch” works if not looking for repeat business.
Not irrational that move combined w horrible baseball makes some not go back.

Odd you are crying about “the kids” on here considering that take.

I have given informative takes based on what I have seen the last five years

I would not call that “crying “.

And this is a message board to discuss how we feel about the program.

Your take is off base.

Lucky for us the field is turf.

What makes you think that others on this board do not support the program “for the kids”.?

How long have you been going to games?

Most of the people on this board have been going to games to support the team for at least 20-30 years or longer.

And I think I care more about the kids than you do sir. You are apparently happy to just go and watch the team blindly and not care what you see, right? You are going “for the kids”.

Well I can only speak for myself but I think most others will agree that bringing in a new coach IS TRULY Supporting the players

I want a coaching staff that will actually develop these kids and get the most out of them
.they did not sign here to show up and never get better.
Everyone of them wants to get better so they can WIN as a team and play in the post season
.they want to get better individually to possibly get drafted and continue on
.
So what you actually support is the opposite of this
.these kids are not reaching team or individual goals with the current coaching staff.

Maybe you should re-think your stance because it’s misguided.

LOL.
So we got that going for us

All that’s left at UH is friends, family & “kids free with team uniform” crowd.
Could that even keep gas in a mower ?

High rated guys with lots of offers have stunk on a regular basis.
Add the % were barely AAC level players sucking in B12 and its all she wrote.

Portal w not be kind unless Whitts program supporting buddies also do NIL.

Are you under some understanding that the kids are taken care of? If they dont produce then they get told to enter the portal. There will be some pretty skilled players who never reached tbeir potential at UH because the coaches cant develop tbe players. Instead of getting developed, they get shown the door. He lost this team after the UT series because it became every man for himself! That is a huge part of TW’s job and he hasnt gotten it done for a long time. That is on him!!!
