OT - Houston Rockets

Charles Barkley continues to disrespect the Rockets by saying he thinks the Lakers are the second best team. Haha Chuck won’t let it go!

Jmo but i don’t see any of the NBA prognisticators thinking the Rockets are the 2nd best team in Western Conf w Zero playoff experience. I think someone mentioned it above but for me if they win ONE playoff round it would be very successful season. Win TWO rounds in play for WCF Title would be tremendous year. The talent is there but for many Sengun, Green, Smith, Thompson, Eason etc it will be the first time exp playoff level Basketball. It matters imo.
Hoping for best but don’t expect anyone to pick them to go far.

Post-Luka trade, that’s probably the consensus opinion. I don’t really think it’s disrespectful; we’d be underdogs in the second round even with home court advantage.

Very well could be underdogs in their 1st round opponent. Obviously speaking once there’s 8 teams left n Rocket’s began their Round. Clippers, Golden St, Minn, any of those will be very tough. Forget home court… disappointing crowds all year in TC.

When people bring up the Rockets locking up a 2 seed the week we lost the natty.

Yeah I suppose. However, I never hear him say anything good about the Rockets.

That is pretty darn accurate. I couldn’t care less about the Rockets right now. Still thinking about that missed goaltending call.

It’s a Rockets thread @UHCoog !!
You care a little

Can’t wait for the playoffs to start…

Just behind Coog tourney runs lies my second favorite basketball event to watch… Red Nation in the playoffs!!!

Just imagine suffering that natty loss and only having last year’s Rockets to look forward to…

ESPN has the Rockets ranked # 4 in a power rankings of all NBA teams.

OKC
Cleveland
Boston
Houston

That would indicate they are the 2nd best in the West….

I don’t expect them to get to the Western Finals but I also would not be shocked……they have proven they can beat the top teams.

He’s definitely butt hurt about his time with the Rockets….probably because he didn’t get a ring.

Kenny Smith usually balances him out as he is pro Rocket.

Yep those rankings pretty much all year long go hand in hand with the Records of the teams. We were talking more that it won’t be surprising one bit if the predictors , ESPN & TNT studio people pick the 7th seed to beat Rockets in 1st Round, since their new to this Territory.
If say they play Clippers - Harden, Leonard & Co that will be tall task w all that experience.
Just like you hoping for the best. Winning 1 Round would be good, win 2 Rounds be Tremendous for 1st year this group has been in Playoffs.

Sometimes you get a group of young guys that are kind of ignorant of the pressure of the situation they are in….you never know.

I could see Jalen Green feeling the pressure and not playing well, whereas Amen would thrive under the pressure and be MVP of a series….that kid has that “Alpha Dog” gene.

Just my opinion….

Absolutely. Jalen who i was not a fan of his first 2 yrs, has made big strides this year. With his outside shooting & more team oriented n not trying to do it all himself w his highlight reel plays.
Less is more.
