Agreed. JG contract was bad at the time but rockets has no choice but to give him the money. I thought DB9 contract was bad as well but he turned out to be better than I thought. Will missed him doing crazy chit on the court. #10 pick thisbyear won’t help the Rockets. 2nd rd pick can always be bought during draft day. Very common practice. Hey, you know it’s a good trade when national media talking about the Rockets.

Most likely thru and sign and trade if it gonna happen. Jock Landale, second rd draft pick, and whoever to match the salary. Q is a perfect fit here. 3pts shooter and play defense. Saying that, I hope Q get paid well this offseason, whether by Rockets or whoever.

I like the trade. The only question is if Durant can stay healthy. At Durant’s age and history of injuries, he is an injury risk. A risk I am willing to take.
If the Rockets can somehow manage to add Giannis and Q, it will be Christmas in June in Houston.
I don’t think that happens… we have FVV, Thompson, Smith Jr., Sengun and KD as our starting 5 next season… with a talented, young bench.

I don’t follow NBA, but hope it all works out for the Rockets. That said it seems like all Houston pro teams have a penchant for over paying for aging all stars who are past prime or end up with nagging injuries limiting expected contributions.

Grimes bounced around to 4 teams. When he was able to play on a team without a true alpha guard he flourished. No telling if it would have happened on the Rockets uber youth team. If there’s a chance to get him now then, I hope they take it.

Are they though? The last 10 2nd rounds have produced 2 all stars (Nikola Jokic and Jalen Brunson). So you’re talking about less than 1% of picks. The odds of producing a decent role player are probably a fair amount higher but given how crowded our roster is already, I don’t think there’s as much value in those kind of picks/players.
