I’m not too sure on how often they update it or if they have moved a later version to a different page.
These are Cougar Red maples. They, I heard from sources, are committed to being Cougar Red maples, matching the School Color.![]()
New towers are my preference too
Putting those vertical lights that are obstructed by those red maples will leave dark alleys. When leaving a basketball game, notice that Holman from the Fertitta center to the railroad tracks is really dark. There are street lights, but they are obstructed by the trees.
You’re setting yourself up for the same problem with the way all of those vertical lights are spaced between the trees. You need lights that are under the tree canopy that will not create large shadow spots.
BTW, the rendition on page 51 does not show the towers dorms. I thought they were staying but being remodeled. A cost analysis probably showed it would be less expensive to just replace them. They could also have an asbestos problem.
What’s layed out on the 2023 2D and 3D plans, may not be what will actually happen. We’ll all have to wait and see.
The construction on campus is slowly starting to take form. It’ll be another several months if not a year, but you’re seeing everything go up. Hopefully the construction walls get removed and campus becomes a little more walkable.
Do they plan on updating the rest of the Hilton Hotel?
It was updated (rooms) when the Centential Tower was added. Eric’s (restaurant) will be updated in 2027. What more needs to be updated?
The rest of the hotel? The older buildings behind the brand new one?
The classroom section? I though much of that had been renovated already in recent years. Though maybe that was 15 years ago now. Not sure.
The rooms are great. The restaurant and bar are okay but cold inside. The robots bringing your food are cool.
The way it looks to me, is akin to if they would have built the Guy V. Lewis Development Center but left Hofheinz in tact and the way that it was. At least from the outside.
When did you stay there?
I stayed there at least 20 times. I was there three times last year.
Why do you ask?
I was just wondering how recent your stay was in relation to the renovations. That’s all.
I’m sure we would have liked them to make the exterior similar to the new tower, but they probably did not have the funds for it.
If the exterior needed lots of repairs, they probably would have replaced it citing safety reasons.
I stay there frequently (5-6 times per year). It’s in very good shape and won recognition from Hilton this past year. The south building (where classes are) are in great shape.
Damn does texas only have Black athletes enrolled? My god they should be called Cracker U!
So there are 5,227 enrolled not listed on UTs demographics and 5,015 enrolled not listed on UHs report looking at the breakdown versus total enrollment.
