This was the other Coog i thought would be drafted

I think the big 12 will have an even better year next year.

Jags have one okayyyy tight end and nothing else of note on their roster. This is a GREAT place for Koizol to land. His receiving ability should stand out in the TE room and I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t make the team and see the field some this year. Hopefully he builds some rapport with Lawrence who had an improved year last year and he settles in as a split out receiving TE that can give them so mismatches for Lawrence (not against the Texans of course).

Jags did use their first pick in the draft on a TE from A&M

Interestingly enough NFLDRAFTBUZZ had them neck and neck.

They have seven TE’s on their roster. Tanner is the tallest by two inches.
Remember friends, Antonio Gates was undrafted and he is in the Hall of Fame. It is about seizing the opportunity ahead.

It was a late 2nd and he was ranked in the teens as a TE prospect as was Koizol. Dude was in college for 5 years including 4 full seasons and had less than 500 yards receiving and 4 TDs TOTAL in 5 years. I’m sure he will be slotted in as a blocking TE. I have no doubt Koizol is a better receiving TE and that is the niche I have been saying he will need to fill. He certainly has a shot at being Lawrenece’s preferred split out receiving TE who can create some size mismatches against nickel DBs, safeties, or smaller LBs but he will have to make it happen since later round picks are always given less chances than higher picks.

Lawrence is 6’6". Tanner is 6’7". Reminds me of another twin tower combo…

…and so much for all of the experts predicting him at 6/7th round or undrafted.

It was their first pick in the draft.

There was a run on TEs like the draft has never seen before which is why he moved up.

Since the start of the seven-round draft in 1994, the record for most tight ends drafted in one year was 19 in 2015. The 2026 class had 21 tight ends drafted.

What mattered is that he got drafted. That is awesome and with a real chance to be a playmaker for them.
