Get ready for another year of Spring football. They will be playing at Shell Energy Stadium. I am surprised they are making another attempt to bring Spring football to Houston.
I thought UFL was leaving Houston.

Why they keep trying to rebrand the roughnecks to the gamblers I’ll never know.
Interesting. Why aren’t they playing their home games at UH? The athletic department sure could use the lease money. Shell Energy Stadium must really need the money if they are willing to let American football tear up the grass field for months at the beginning of the season for the Dynamo and Dash. Maybe the less seating will make the stadium look more full?
smaller venues is what the league wants
The least they could’ve done was keep the Gamblers logo, that logo is sad. This league can’t make money.
They failed, they are trying to start over.
They should have home games at Fun Stadium, at Bayland Park. I remember watching the 1980s Houston Gamblers, with QB Jim Kelly, practice there.
The Gamblers are the Run N Shoot. The Gamblers do not exist without the Run N Shoot. You want an exciting pro franchise in Houston bring back the Run N Shoot offense. Let see what a 2025 version would look like. That is IMO worth the price of admission. Is somebody listening in the Gamblers business office?
The Run N Shoot was working for the Roughnecks pre covid.
Well, SHFB isn’t exactly selling out their games.
An article today about the woeful attendance of this past season.

Some of the dates/times sucked. They scheduled a game for noon on Mothers Day and then, last minute, changed it to 5pm
Really poor scheduling
lol - should’ve played it at the Rugby Stadium - easier to get to
i mean they basically gutted the roughnecks down to the studs and rebranded in a way the fanbase actively said they didn’t want and fielded a crappy roster with a coach that had already been fired from this exact same team. what exactly did they expect?
Ugliest uniforms in the league. Why change a good thing, about the only good thing this revamped version had going for it cause it sure didn’t have a decent coach or QB.
They scheduled home games on Easter Sunday, Mothers Day and Memorial Day weekend.
Between the poor scheduling, the name change (nobody remembers the 1980s USFL team anymore), and the washed-up head coach, it’s almost like the UFL was setting this team up for failure.
What do three of the four worst UFL teams in attendance have in common?
They all have NFL teams. The good news is that Houston beat Dallas once again. Houston was #1 in worst attendance in the league.
Birmingham?
They’re all returning teams.
The top team in attendance (by far!) is also the only team that plays indoors. Not exactly rocket science when you’re talking about a spring league where 75% of the teams play in the South.
