This looks incredible. This looks like it would be on HBO. Seriously don’t know how Nflx or Amzn haven’t approached schools (particularly ones that draw a lot of attention, SEC blue bloods and B1G blue bloods) to make an in season series. I mean most coaches probably wouldn’t want it, but from a $$$ point, makes all the sense in the world.

I bet that show would have been fascinating. Dana certainly isn’t the only football coach out there to get unhinged and let loose with a string of cuss words.
Maybe they just haven’t made a deal for it yet.

That is not what happened. They were hoping that it would get picked up but it never did. I assume that the way the following season and rumors of Dana being on the hot seat didn’t help either.
Dana seemed like he was really hamming it up for the cameras lol

I actually think that’s really how he is with his players.
Yeah, I suspect they were going for a Last Chance U type of vibe, in which case the turmoil within the program would have created a more compelling narrative. Going from contender to clown show is always fascinating.

No way this would have made the light of day. I hope you can see why. Unhinged coach and program, renegade, just what Hoss Brock said about us.
Just watching the trailer, that video hurts UH’s brand more than helps it. The players were fine in it, but Holgorsen comes off like foul mouthed jerk. I am a 4 or 5 star player being recruited; why would I want to play for him? The clear answer is most didn’t.

It reminded me a lot of Last Chance U. Watching those you realize you don’t like how the sausage is made.
I would have been very interested to see how it effected the program if had been released.
Getting behind the scene stuff would have had us talking about that instead of sharing rumors. Mutun, Parrish, and Dell would be great players to showcase the university.
But you have to wonder if having all the cameras put extra pressure on everybody.

The production crew actually came to our house and did interviews and filmed us for about an hour. Derek was there also, kind of a behind the scenes, what’s it like as a UH player outside of football kind of segment.

And yes, Derek said the camera crew would be at his apartment at 6 am filming every move he made.

That sounds like a cool experience, but there’s just no way that wasn’t a “distraction” for the team, even if Derek handled it well.

It was a huge one, at least for him. He had to watch carefully his language, play books, what he wore, literally everything.

We saw he results. I bet it would have been very entertaining but that was a total sheet show year and I’m sure the cameras played a part.
