PAC Expansion

15 million is a modest enough amount…compared to the 38 million they got before… I am sure that 15 million is after they help themselves by expanding back to 12…with ESPNs advice, naturally. There wont be ANY deals the way they are now…

They will get $9 to $10 million per school.

It will depend on who’s aligned with whom. Any alliance with the best 6 from both conferences probably gets $15 million-$18 million if the deal includes basketball.

Or all 8 of them and the best 6 of us…under either conference banner. It would actually be a very salty conference.

I can tell you I don’t think the currently constituted AAC could draw that now or three years from now…if it were evaluated on true market demand.

He has allegedly heard from inside sources that Houston has been discussed as an expansion target within PAC offices and he is very high on us.

I have discussed Jennifer Connelly as the future ex mrs moncoog and she is very high on that list. I sent her a list via her Instagram dm of qualifications I require and she has met them.

I’ll let her know when I’ve made my final decision

Uhhh … sorry but I did NOT hear the same … he is just guessing like everyone else on this board …

We actually will not know until the Pac12 decides whether to expand or not …

Though no one has mentioned it yet … but the alliance is creating a great schism between the SEC and the other P4s which will eventually affect their scheduling bowl games and college playoffs … it will make the Israeli/Palestinian Ireland/N. Ireland Iraq/Iran animosities seem tame …

College football may never be the same again …

It could well wind up with the G5s + leftover8 … the Alliance … and SEC … and never the twain shall meet

So the 3 other Power Conferences will just sit back and concede the SEC to the very lucrative State of Texas when they have options to add right now?

That’s acting in a reactive position of fear instead of a proactive approach of taking a piece of SEC’s turf.

If the P4s pass on all the Texas schools, college football in the state of Texas will be DEAD for 75% of the schools in the state.

You think TT, BU, TCU are excited about merging with the AAC?!?! They are really depressed right now.

The networks will do everything they can to promote the P4 as the REAL conference and everyone else is subpar minor brand of college football.

This alliance also just REMOVED our odds of scheduling OOC games with those 3 conferences.

Our only hope is joining the PAC so I really hope it happens or else we are screwed once again and probably for the last time.

and opened up potential scheduling of SEC schools

So we go from being able to schedule quality OOC games with 5 Power Conferences, which we are hobbible at BTW, to ONE Power Conference.

This is not good news for us.

We better get used to the TSU, Sam, North Texas, UTSA OOC games

We are already used to those games.

Oh well as someone has already stated …

There is always college basketball …

DivIA football has just shot itself in the right foot … will soon shoot itself in the other foot … and self destruct In the near future …

…with the hope we were building something to be an attractive option for this round of expansion which we always thought would happen around 2024.

If we don’t get it…that’s it. People don’t get excited for those matchup for lesser opponents and the gap between the P4 and the rest just may be too big. Especially with NIL& alliances, etc.

We will become a basketball school…and I’m afraid for that, we built our arena too SMALL to be inline with the other basketball powers.

Weird summer. I was worried how the NIL would change things, but excited at the prospect of an expanded playoff. I would guess the playoff expansion gets pushed back now and college football may look a whole lot different in the coming years.

What if it’s really UH, Tech, ok st and Kansas st but UH and Tech said to be quiet till done bc of Texas politics with tcu and baylor?

Everything makes sense except for them leaving out Texas schools for eyeballs and recruiting.

Maybe another reset happens in 10 years. Maybe not. Sucks for everyone not Texas or A&M. Make the best of it. Companies don’t care about college football. Football is a vehicle to sell advertisements.

One thing that has been established is that Pez and Khator run a tight ship. You see no press leaks.

No truer words have ever been spoken.
