Well you have a different standards than I do when it comes to professionals actually know their profession. You know what happens when knowledgeable callers have to listen to uniformed takes from the host? They tune out the station.
You know what happens when the host start telling stories about their personal lives or staying off topic for minutes at a time? More of the audience leaves.
When the host decides pigeon hole the topics with their selectivity? More of the audience leaves.
You wouldn’t run off professional fans (and I have always been one of them) if the host could actually engage in intelligent conversation about the local colleges and the entire sports spectrum to an extent.
There are a few good ones out there, none that I consider really good. The good ones tend to be a one lane divers for their particular sports.
