Plane Crash

I know that you can train as an ATC as an Army enlisted MOS, and then go straight into that field as a civilian when you get out, making damn good money.

In this case, I’m not sure why else they would withhold it other than for the family. I don’t see what there is to gain.

That’s what I’m saying. That’s the only thing that makes sense in this case. The conspiracies don’t. Jmo

The argument will be framed as a privacy vs public safety issue.

Let’s think of it in terms of someone dying
from a new super ebola virus that is highly contagious. In that case, the victims name is not normally released right away by officials.

It will have to be released eventually.

Right, it will eventually be known. I’m okay with officially waiting until investigation is complete.

The helicopter was flying too high. It appears it was simple human error. Very unfortunate.

ā€œGet up, Lieutenant.ā€

ā€œWhat is it, Captain?ā€

ā€œWe’re gonna go train.ā€

ā€œBack to central Virginia?ā€

ā€œNo. I wanna go fly in front of passenger aircraft at one of the country’s busiest airports.ā€

There’s only one flight path that crosses there… they confirmed it twice… I’m going to pull up flight tracker and look at the paths that crossed and we should be able to see…

Here’s another angle…

Why release the two male soldiers’ names…?

Why break protocol for this one person?

Why were they flying too high, why did they request to maneuver around it… that doesn’t make you question anything…?

I tried to filter older flights from ICT to DCA on flight aware and nothing comes up Canadair Regional…

Again, the plan was going 140mph. You’re getting confused because almost all video angles have the plane coming towards them so it looks stationary. Include the speed of the helo and you’ll see that the plane could be hard to spot from the helo pilot’s point of view.

These are veteran combat pilots… you really believe they can’t see a plane with blinking lights coming right at them… they never even tried to take evasive action… you must believe they were all staring at the capitol building or something…

And nothing looks stationary… the helo or the plane…

Why do we have a shortage for air traffic controllers?
Why is it that the air traffic tower at Reagan airport had/has 19 air traffic controllers when they should have 30?
This is asinine. Moreover it is happening in D.C. of all places.
How do you define insanity?

Are y’all familiar with the term ā€œkeep your head on a swivelā€ā€¦

The ATC did their job… there’s proof the helo pilot acknowledged they saw the CRJ not once, but twice…

And said they were going to maneuver around it…

I guess their family approved it. Plus they are less likely to become some sort of political punching bag.

I don’t know enough here to answer you.

That is not the point. You should never have an air traffic controller shortage. It is about national security especially in D.C. and with military aircrafts flying non stop.
You can have a palm tree cleaning shortage but an air traffic controller shortage?
That indeed is inexcusable.

Dustin, the military follows protocol… they don’t give a damn about what your family thinks…

For some reason they’re not following it for the female soldier onboard…
