They should make the players have heat strokes like real men.

wait why, is this an inside joke or sum

Lots of teams are doing this. I saw it in the Nebraska game today too.

I’d have been pissed if I paid for a lower row seat and couldn’t see the field because of those dumb tents.

I don’t know, I’ll trust the sports science over optics. Imagining if providing shade and keeping their bodies however many degrees cooler for however much longer provides ‘X’ amount of sustained stamina/prevents energy depletion through the end of the game, and that improves your chances of winning, I’m all for it. Literally whatever the science shows to be beneficial, whomever is minmaxing and playing moneyball in the sports science world who concludes this or that based on evidence, we should absolutely do that thing.

Houston temperature/ humidity. Athletes that are running up and down the field and you want them to keep being beating down and not have an option of sitting under a tent? You realize they are coogs, right? They are trying to stay cool and preform to their best ability.

Not to mention the temps are at least 10 degrees warmer on artificial turf.

Embarrassing to try to keep them performance ready.

Why are you embarrassed by this? What am I missing?

I think Baylor did this several years ago for some games.

The beer coolers and TVs were what sealed it for me.

Maybe they should start building dugouts on the sidelines.

Why? What’s wrong with keeping them cool and hydrated and if they don’t perform up to your standards then you’d complain about that too? Ever been on turf in the summer it’s 10-15 degrees hotter. Just because a few players want to sit under some shade embarrasses you, then you’re easily embarrassed.

It is probably 25 degree hotter baking in the hot sun while being inside that uniform than being in T-shirts and shorts. Those pop-up tents are difference-makers as far as your ability to perform your best on the field. You won’t perform well when your body temps are extremely high.
