Why do you think UH is offering so many defensive ends?
I think Payton Turner projects to be an athletic OT at 6-7.

We donāt have many returning DL and Blum seems to know quite a few guys with his high school connections.
Turner was also a TE in high school and heās too skinny right now to play DL in college right now. Heās listed at 219 so heāll need to bulk up. Cam Malveaux was similar when he came in.

247 has him listed at 6ā5" 217. How are his hands? Wouldnāt mind having that tall of a target at TE if he can catch.
Speaking of TE, we now have several on the roster, including Romello Brooker, Parker Eichenberger, Alex Leslie and Chris Johnson. I have no idea if CMA intends to use a TE in his system, but if so, any idea who the front runner might be in that group? Thereās some really good size in terms of height in that groupā¦a far cry from McCloskey at 6ā2".
Yep, my bossās kid couldāve played low D1 baseball and got D3 offers at a top 20-25 university but chose to try his luck at UT. He got to practice with the team in the fall and get a temporary locker but ultimately was on the wrong side of the 35 man roster. Guess he realizes that he wasnāt going pro anyway and wanted a more sports-oriented college experience than the higher rated school wouldāve allowed. He had his shot, has some pictures of the effort and can put it on his resume.
This kid may never see the field at UT just sad.
Iām not too concerned about the rankings at this point, but we are in desperate need of a couple of OL and a couple of CB to commit.
He can always transfer (and lose a year) if he doesnāt get to play much.
Give it your shot Cosmi. We want players who want to be at UH. Gotta keep grinding. The players in the Super Bowl and 3-star draftees show the promise with playing time at UH.
Does cosmiās dad have a pair of Capriās on? UT can have him.

Looking back through the underclassmen that played last year, Iām less worried about the lack of safeties and cornerbacks in this group. We have several sophomore defensive backs that got plenty of time on the field for their first time and after a Spring with the new coach, they should only get better.
Of course itās always good to have kids in every class for every position because you want to be training the future from day one but I think we are good the next couple of years.
