"Power 2" Logic

  • AFTER A WIN: “P2 is leagues better than the Big 12 and ACC. Our backups could destroy these no-name, bottomfeeder schools. We should just breakway and form our own league!”
  • AFTER A LOSS: “Bowl games are meaningless. We were using our 2nd and 3rd stringers. This roster isn’t the same as our week 1 roster”

Related, I see Alamo Bowl attendance was down. But B12 did beat B10 school

Attendance for tonight’s Valero Alamo Bowl is 54,751, fourth-lowest, non-Covid-19 attendance in bowl history. Aside from the 10,822 that attended the Alamo Bowl in 2020 during the pandemic, this year’s attendance is the lowest since 2002 when 50,690 saw Wisconsin beat Colorado.

Meanwhile the Texas Bowl bested them with 63,867.

Non-CFP bowl games see decrease in composite attendance.

Should have invited UH!

The SEC is a pretty promotional savvy organization, I’m sure if the Alamo Bowl had invited UH and ask for LSU but they were too busy dissing UH.

The Alamo bowl was tied to the big 12 and pac 12. They couldn’t pull lsu. It could have been Houston USC however.

I’m happy we got the Texas Bowl - The Bayou Bash is better than a game with a west coast team. I was also thrilled with the Cougs win over GT.

I said it in a different thread, but I think Houston’s win is a big deal for prestige for the team and conference. Big win.

The fact that we drew 63.8k to a bowl game in a year where Tennessee only got 52k to the Music City Bowl is something our fan base should be super proud. Great turnout from a usually apathetic fan base.

The Music City Bowl crowd was shockingly low!

Fans must be delivering a message to the coaching staff.

The Iowa v Vandy game isn’t even close to being half full.

Another SEC getting the belt to a$$ treatment. You love to SEC SEC SEE it.

Yah Tennessee had played in the Music City Bowl three other times, the lowest attendance they’d had was 68.5k. That’s a 16k drop and they even had a decent opponent in Illinois.

It’s even worse with the guys over at On3 talking the transfer portal and QBs

JD Pickell claimed that the reason all the big 12 quarterbacks left is because they want to get better NFL evaluation by playing in the SEC or Big-10

He claims that the Big 12 is a step down in both competition and evaluation standards

Which is complete BS

This. UH got a great bowl in the home town with a big name regional opponent. Made for a great game and a great win.

UH would not have done nearly as good in fan turn out having to drive to San Antonio and pay twice as much for tickets and parking. Not to mention USC did not bring nearly the number of fans as LSU. USC would not have brought more fans if the opponent was UH. Alamo did themselves a disservice with the high prices and Tuesday night time slot.

This is sad going on about being dissed by not getting a worse bowl option. Try enjoying the Texas bowl win and the fact that the Big 12 is 3-0. Hopefully 5-0 by the end of the day.

For some reason it was directed at me according to notifications.

I like TcU. My niece cheered for the Frogs and in a small world story, one of my neighbors in Los Angeles was on that same cheer squad.

No worries. It seems this board makes up reply links to keep us on our toes. I just stopped checking and try to include quotes.

Cheered as a fan or on the squad? I know some of the people associated with the showgirls (not quite cheer)

Admin: Looking at the post, it shows a reply to HWS but I highlighted the quote in the other post and hit the specific reply on their post. IT for the board should probably look into it one day.
