Prayers to our armed forces, allies and the ones that helped us

Incidentally, not since I was on my first Afghanistan tour back in 2011 have we had a single incident this deadly in that country. One day in 2011 while I was there we had 30 special operators shot down and killed in a helicopter in Wardak Province.

In other words, this is the single deadliest incident for the US military in Afghanistan in about a decade.

The fact is that we have equipped the taliban (just 30k to 70k at the most) with $80Billions + worth of highly sophisticated equipment.
We have no clues if isis was responsible for this or if the taliban want to make us believe they were. They hate each other but they hate the U.S. more. That alone is more telling.
We have to support and pray for our armed forces and allies to find a way to get out of this nightmare.

Prayers didn’t work. Back to lead and copper.

Our own General on the Afghanistan ground gave a list of American citizens and green card holders to the taliban. He did/they did so the taliban could help us rescue them

"people chose not to leave. that’s their business. that’s their right

To all that do not believe in prayers that is your choice and I respect you for it.
In lieu of such mind boggling incompetence all that need rescue need all of our prayers.

you can’t make this stuff up.

U.S. reportedly gave Taliban the names of Americans and Afghan allies: ‘Appalling and shocking’ (yahoo.com)

or

Biden Says U.S. ‘Could Very Well Have’ Given Kabul Evacuees’ Names To Taliban (forbes.com)

“could very well have” that means yeah we did this.

I’m sure that the intent was to help enable our allies to get through the checkpoints and get out by making them clearly identifiable.

That said, that could definitely BACKFIRE against anyone that doesn’t make it out, not to mention any family members and relatives that are left behind, and can now be easily identified and targeted as well.

I DO NOT trust the Taliban when they say that they will give everyone “amnesty.” They’ve never been known to be merciful.

I pray that we can get our allies and their families out. SCREW ANYONE that has a problem with getting them out. If anyone here feels that we should leave them behind to be slaughtered
well
FORGET you (in lieu of saying something more colorful).

Every representative has an idea of how many U.S. citizens are in Afghanistan. A FL Rep just said that she knew of at least 682.
One American human being or Green Card holder left behind is too many. We have no choice but to extend this deadline until everyone is out. Anything is unconsciable.
GOD HELP US.

One of my Dari language instructors living in the USA whose mother has a green card and a SSN was still waiting at the gate as of yesterday morning.

I hope she gets out.

Same here. I am now 100% convinced that we need to be there until we have our citizens, green card holders, allied forces, friendly Afghanis out. This current deadline is playing in the hands of the taliban/terrorists. We have enough remote forces to pulverize them. This is critical for all concerned and our own future. I am so sad and dumb funded that this is not bein clear this very second. I pray for her and so many others.

The Afghan National Women’s Soccer Team has been evacuated.

Very strangely, the (literally) last Jew in Afghanistan has decided to remain.

The Pentagon is now admitting they have no idea if the Afghanis rescued are indeed our allies. This is unbelievable.

Leon Panetta suggested on CNN that we might have to go back in and get ISIS.

Any thoughts?

Panetta can speculate all he wants but we are not even at this stage or not yet. Defending the homeland is priority #1 along with getting our citizens and allies safely. There is no point about debating one side vs another from the U.S. point of view. What should happen immediately is the following:
Sec of State, miley and a few others (already named) need to step down immediately.
This will send the best message to our armed forces and allies. Doing nothing is going to have some long standing repercussions both in Afghanistan and more importantly for every service man and woman. Moreover our NATO allies need reassurance that we can lead. In these perilous times a strong alliance is more than ever needed.
The taliban has been or we are being told in charge of check points. 13 heroes and close to 200 Afghans Nationals are dead. Not only did they fail but we can never trust them to ensure our safety. That alone is much more than a deal breaker. Our message should be that the “secured” perimeter be greatly extended with our armed forces and allies in charge of it.
Impose that we will have a clear “exit” for all of our citizens, allies and true Afghanis allies.
We are now finding out that amoung 100k’s evacuees only 5k are U.S. citizens.
There are still countless of American citizens in Afghanistan. We have close to 6k troops on the ground and allied forces. If the taliban is sincere (can’t believe I am writing this) they will have to accept our conditions. Their so called new government depends on it.
isis k or any other terrorist fraction is by all accounts another form of “caliphate” terrorists. Another Afghanis Civil war is already brewing. Let them fight it and help Massoud’s son fraction with as much drone help as he needs. That will at least help get rid of terrorist groups entrenched in Afghanistan. We are past the stage of retreating at all cost. We have the means and capabilities to have the upper hand again. This has to be our Commander in Chief message.
It should make no difference to the taliban if we leave two weeks or a month after their deadline. We never got the answer from our leaders on why this deadline and why? A set exit deadline never made any sense from the beginning.

We’ve evacuated 100k people in 2 weeks? That’s amazing.

And I want to point out that there hasn’t been one registered complaint about the inflight movie either (at least not in english).

-We left the bad guys in charge
-We left the bad guys with a stockpile of weapons including night vision and other high tech weapons.
-We managed to let them dictate the terms making us look foolish and impotent
-We manged to get 13 service memebers killed which is more military members killied in Afghanistant in a YEAR since 2019 when we had 21 in a Year.
-We managed to piss off our allies and cement in their minds that we can’t be trusted.

I wonder how the snacks were on those flights?

The insanity continues. We/our leaders are telling the world that an attack is imminent within 24 to 36 hours? Why say that? Why say that and then an attack takes place 37 hours after?
I am praying that real/competent military leaders are put into the right positions. This is critical.
Camp Pendleton used to be one of my accounts for many years. Going on base was always a privilege.

Prayers to all of our fallen heroes and the ones that are there on the ground in this mission.

Now THIS is what I call FREEDOM OF THE PRESS!!! Remember that scene from Airplane II???
