Protesters blocking the road

I agree but also how horrible of a person do you have to be to not let an ambulance or other emergency vehicle through your protest?

Yeah this all seems so easily choreographed on the ground. Cops show up, “You can protest until emergency services have to come through then we drag you off and arrest you. Everyone wins.”

What if it’s not emergency services but a cancer patient who needs to get to a treatment?

Or someone who just got word that their kidney transplant has come in?

Or someone on the way to an important job interview that could change their life?

Or someone rushing to the hospital to say their last goodbyes to a loved one?

Protest on the side of the road all you want, but you don’t have the right to block traffic.

Mods, you can merge my thread with this one. It is basically the same thing.
To not understand the basics is mind boggling to me.
Blocking traffic has an intent. Stop society no matter the cost.
For the naysayers you are a …r. You block the Golden Gate bridge or any other bridge? You 100% fully understand that you are risking people’s lives. The S.F.P.D and N.Y.P.D. were ordered to stand down. These police leaders should be fired. I hope that a class action lawsuit comes from this.

That is not true and you have no clues what people needs are when they are stuck on a bridge or any other highway where they can’t get out. This is anarchy and we are letting these …s do what they want.

I’d be more than happy to assist with removals in such a time of need. I’m sure most would.

covid is not rampant right now. Then why is it that most of these so called demonstrators are wearing masks? They are cowards and do not want to be recognized. Most of them are totally ignorant of Israel, the middle East or just basic history/world history and geography. This is what happened when most professors at public universities have an ideology. They brain wash students and this is the result we have today.

Meanwhile.

If you think it is just some professor’s particular ideology that is causing college students to think like this, you’re missing many other factors - especially social media.

Got any data to back that statement up?

Wouldn’t we all be a part of the brainwashed generations?

BTW, my post started out with “If”. Also, the “you” was the collective you or anyone not just you as in Chris.

Some can understand the differences but first you have to question what the professor is telling you. That is supposed to be what education is all about. Critical thinking. There are not too many critical thinkers in these tents/demonstrators.

So… No?

We are not allowed to…I will send you a pm.

We’re not allowed to have data? Or it is that your data comes from a highly politicized source? Or will you be sending me an opinion piece?

Edit: so the sources sent were decent. Not quite what I had in mind as I would still want to inquire further. I don’t see why you could t post them here except they mentioned political parties.

Here’s some data.

Overall, professors are TWELVE times more likely to be liberal.

In departments like History, it’s more like THIRTY times.

Ok.but not all liberals or conservatives think alike. I guess I was looking for something more specific ideologically. Although, that may not exist.

Now you understand a bit better why these students and professors are in the streets.
IMO this has nothing to do with being one side or the other but it has more to do with wanting a “balanced” education. That ought to be what education is all about. You can’t have one side being so prevalent. That is not healthy for anybody. You can’t have real debate? You can’t have higher ed.
