Weird. I’ve got to imagine that the team has a sense of urgency in getting Grimes to play, so I wonder what the reasoning is.

my guess is the rumor is true…
2 months ago, there were rumors he was filling on the basis of kansas getting hit with high level ncaa violations, that was rumored to come “in the following weeks”…those rumored “notice of violations” till this day hasnt been sent (or made public)…
but i have no inside information…what do i know!

He will get a waiver.
Agree with pesik, without some punishment or notice of violations going public, he doesn’t have a great case. ESPN and some Twitter folks made it sound like sanctions against KU were imminent a few months ago.
The staff might be playing some poker too, if Grimes is OK with sitting one, playing one then declaring. If Grimes is here in 2020 and those 3 recruits sign, we are gonna be a national force.
Just speculation, but I would think that they are waiting on Kansas to get noticed for NCAA violations before they will file a waiver request for Grimes.

That’s the logical thing to do. How do you send something in that hasnt happened yet. It sucks if it did happen it would mean we wont see him till later in the season.
