I had a few guards ahead of Grimes, but I have no doubt he’ll be impactful in the NBA. He showed a lot by struggling at Kansas but picking himself back up, transferring to Houston, locking down on defense and really thriving under Kelvin Sampson. Grade: B+"

I saw Utah GM Dennis Lindsey at one of our regular season games and chatted with him for awhile and he was very high on Grimes.
Have known Dennis for years as his parents were house parents like us at Brazoria County Youth Home.
He played at Brazoswood in Clute and I tried to get Pat Foster to recruit him.
Anyhow Lindsey is close friends with coach Sampson and loved how our Cougars hustled and played defense.
He figured Grimes would be gone by 25-26 but really liked his play
