Ranking of Top 40 fast food chains

Not a fan in general of fast food. I occasionally will get spicy Popeyes chicken or flounder sandwich during lent.

In general fast food burgers are a no go for me.

I hear Trill is good…maybe I’ll try now that he’s opened a store in Spring. Any reviews from fellow Coogs?

I’ve never heard of Rubio’s, but Becks is more of a quick serve restaurant than fast food.

In 2002-2003 I travelled to Anaheim every other week. Found Rubios (Cali-based “Baja” seafood fast food) that had an incredible lobster taco (fish was good too). That, a good Thai place, and the Huntington/ Newport beaches made the trips bearable.

Drove out there in February to visit my uncle and searched out a Rubios. Not bad but nowhere near as good as 20+ years ago

I was convinced for a long time that La Quinta was Spanish for “Next to Denny’s”.

And sometimes not that quick. But worth it.

You mean it’s not?

Do you like fish tacos?

Not really, which I think puts me into the minority.

This was pretty cool of Whataburger.

Gonna stir up another hornets nest.

Best fast food burger in America? Not Whataburger nor In and Out. It’s The Habit.

I have to admit, we eat the Habit more than any other burger, mainly due to In N Out always having a long line, and Habit is easy to order on the Iphone. I’ve always enjoyed both, but my son prefers The Habit.

I actually order my Habit burger how I used to order my Whataburger. Cheeseburger with Lettuce, Pickles and Mustard, and that’s it. It’s pretty damn good.

I accidentally ate at the original Habit in Santa Barbara during Covid. I didn’t know it was the original, and it was more of a beach burger shack type place when I arrived.

Anyway, debate!

The Habit, having beaten out In N Out two years in a row, trolls them with a billboard by their locations.

In and Out got 2nd last year, 4th this year.

We ate Habit a decent amount when we lived in CA. Solid burger that’s in the same convo.

I’m sure Habit Burger is good. I have never tried it. But I have to question this ranking when they have Jack in Box cheeseburger third over the rest of that ranking. Ain’t no way that Jack in the Box is better than Whataburger, or most of that ranking, for that matter.

Most of the Burger Boy doubles I’ve gotten in SA have reminded me of the old school Whataburger, but with krinkle fries. And fantastic shakes.

PTerry’s double is really good, as well, and their fries are great.

I gotta be honest.

I went to the P. Terry’s here off of 1463 near Katy, and I’ll put it rather bluntly.

I’ve had MICROWAVE hamburgers better than that. Won’t be going back.

Can’t say I’ve had the double though.

On the burger that I ordered, the single patty tasted…well…almost synthetic.

Well, I’ve had some pretty crappy Whataburgers, too, but I’m not a quitter.

Never had a bad Whataburger, much less one THAT bad.

Come on. I love WB, but if you’ve had them a bunch, you’re bound to have gotten one that wasn’t very good.

Anyway, your bad burger experience at the new place in Katy really doesn’t bear on the fact that they make good ones elsewhere. I have no reason to prop them up, but they were better than any In-and-Out burger I’ve ever tried.

I wouldn’t say that either.

I’ve been to In and Outs at multiple locations in CA and TX (including the one here in Katy).

Haven’t had one as bad as the P. Terry’s sampling.

That burger reminded me of a school cafeteria burger from my HISD middle school.

P. Terry’s did have pretty good fries though, UNLIKE In and Out.
