Yes!!!
This place is awesome. Man I am just waiting for them to put one in Atlanta.
They have a milkshake where they put a whole slice of chocolate cake in it!

Yep, a bottle of Gaviscon anti acid comes from Mexico. We have to hope the
agencies in those countries (India, Mexico, etc) do really good plant inspections on the city, state, and national level. Sure the companies have safety and sanitation policies, but having a dad that was a supervisor in a milk plant here, I know how the process worked. Typically, before the inspectors showed up, overtime was the norm and extra cleaning was in order to pass the inspections. There is a lot of
unrealized trust we place in these companies and countries inspectors.
When I was a kid we used to drive to Texarkana to shop on weekends. On state line they had a https://www.wienerschnitzel.com/.
It just seemed bland to me. Never registered on my mejores sabores scale.
They a building one close to my office in Stafford. Will try when they open. But JCI for the win.
Not a big fan either. The stores have a unique shape and that alone draws a ton of customers in. The old ones are more “Disney like”
LOVE JCI. I was bummed when the Stafford location closed. There are only a couple left. Meyerland is still there.
I was bummed when the Katy JCI closed.
On in n out vs. Whataburger. Pre Private equity take over Whataburger wompa stomped In n Out and it wasnt particularly close. Since the acquisition the gap has narrowed a lot. Because PE vultures ruin everything, just their nature, it still wins out for other reasons, but straight burger to burger these days hard to tell the difference.
And if someone says I think Culver’s is better than both, I wouldn’t die on a hill in opposition. They are legit.
I googled the “author” of this list and…it’s ChatGPT.
Whatscatch
Chicken Express spicey
Wow!
I never realized they had a fish sandwich!
I’ll have to try it!
Thanks!
What has changed in their burgers since the take over and how would you know you live in Cali?
WhataCatch
I explained very clearly that I had eaten several in San Antonio. I’ve gotten one every time I’ve gone to Texas in the hope that whatever location I’m at does it right, to no avail. It just doesn’t taste as fresh as it used to, to me.
I don’t know what’s changed, but it tastes and feels like a cheap ass burger instead of the wonderful one I grew up on. A quick Google search will find many more lifelong fans who feel the same. They were bought by a Chicago investment firm. They claim nothing has changed, but in my opinion, and many, many others, that is wrong. I hear the smaller town locations still seem to put out quality, likely do to the more personal nature with their customer base.
So this isn’t a Cali vs. Texas thing.
I eat at the Whataburger in Brenham regularly, and occasionally at one I. Katy.
Always good!
No real change that I noticed.
FWIW, I find whataburger to be just average in burgers. I do like their specialty
versions every now and then with Texas Toast , so I may visit them about 4 times
per year. But the beef is not outstanding imho. In-n-Out is about the same to me; nothing I’d go out of my way for or crave. Now, if I’m truly starved, my ranking perceptions for either go way up.
How do you rate Rallys/Checkers burgers?
Whataburger definitely has better fries and shakes than In and Out, and good breakfast tacos.
I am not a huge fan of in and out but it beats wataburger every day. Wataburger tastes different to me than before. I had a couple on an AZ trip and was not impressed.
Best fast food? Rubio’s. Even after all the different ownerships, merger etc…still the co best with Becks Prime.
