Favoring left leg after the game walking to locker rooms

That’s a tough break! Damn! Hoping for a speedy recovery

Not to be that guy but why are so many players not wearing knee pads? Is the benefit worth the risk?

Current conventional wisdom is that knee pads don’t really do anything at the speed the game is played. There are vanishingly few injuries that would be prevented by a quarter inch of foam. Knee pads were already out of fashion when I quit playing HS Football in 2008, and in that time I don’t think I’ve ever seen an injury and thought “damn, he should have been wearing knee pads.”

Knee pads don’t prevent internal (ligament) damage. They can prevent contusion/bruising/fracture of the kneecap. I always wore them to help prevent having the turf/ground tear the skin off of my knees when I fell awkwardly (which was most times I fell).

I saw him come off the field when he hurt it and I was concerned by where he was pointing to and holding. Terrible news.

Dang tough break

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery my fellow Coog

This is where playing in Houston helps. Top tier medical care

Look at how well Sanford is moving after his injuries

So with 5 for 5 , there is no medical redshirts?

What a bummer! I wondered how bad it was when I saw him limp off.

John Hebert is tougher than a $2.00 steak. His best days are still ahead of him.

Look at Re’shaun Sanford a broken right ACL and then a broken left ACL. Sanford has had some fantastic runs this season.

Like a said, Herbert’s best days are ahead of him.

I don’t think that’s a given.

Haven’t we learned by now not to trust anything the NCAA publishes?

Highest ranked RB recruit in school history (since rankings began) lost to kickoff coverage.

Wow.

Ryan said as much earlier today. I guess you can call it any name you want, it all boils down to 5 in 5. Whatever the reason or don’t even need a reason

That’s a trippy image. Was confused about what was going on with his leg.

Ostensibly yes. The entire point of the 5 for 5 rule was to put an end to the whole “I get an extra year because I caught a cold in the offseason three years ago” nonsense. The idea is that it will be applied without exceptions.

We’ll see how that works out in reality.

Was wondering the same. Maybe some study somewhere … Maybe AI says its ok.

Seriously you are saying this. So sad that young Hebert will miss the rest of the season but to call him the highest rated running back in school history means you are either under much medication, drunk or dilutional…
He will be a huge part of future teams and a very exciting part…can’t wait to see him when his turn comes
