The so called rock and roll hall of fame is a joke. Bands like Supertramp, The Verve and many others that sold tens of millions are not even in but an obscure band like the White Stripes are in it??? Is this a joke?
I love Donna Summer but why is she in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame? The same can be said for many members.
Whoever selects the nominees/inductees clearly have an axe to grind.
With this joke of a hall criteria why is it that Britney Spears is not in it?

Yes, that is right. Look at some of the members are they more deserving than these three? The answer will be no.
From looking at the hall’s list the selection “mindset” makes no sense whatsoever.

I’ve explained that Rock and Roll encompasses the entire beat genre . It is not the “Rock” hall of fame. The argument against the genres that paved the way for rock aren’t supposed to be in the fame are in fact by definition “Rock and Roll”
People who argue otherwise don’t understand the history, Rock and Roll predates the Rock genre.
Oh I’m not actually arguing for or against. I actually think we’re all in agreement that this particular Hall of Fames process is more than a bit capricious and arbitrary.
On the White Stripes in particular, there is far more of an argument for Jack White to go in stand alone vs The White Stripes
So should these bands be in before the one you mentioned? They were and still are followed Worldwide. Same goes for Chaka Khan. This hall selection criteria is their own criteria. This is why Paul McCartney refused to be in. Good for him and the Sex Pistols. Cindi Lauper before the bands mentioned?
Maybe some music execs are buying in their client. That you can market.

No, i don’t think you understand the definition of Rock N Roll or understand the history if you have a problem with non Rock acts in the hall of fame.
But we have agreed from the get go that the Hal ofl fame is a club and its obvious there is some BS in their picks.
Nobody rocked an Oilers jersey like Christopher Cross but Queen Latifah has had a much more prolific career.
All this stuff is subjective except for the idea that the White Stripes are obsure. Can you admit that was wrong on your part?
Don’t worry about my perception of rock and roll but what I understand is that Paul McCartney does not want to have anything to do with it. Your definition of rock and roll includes acts that I do not consider to belong in the Rock and Roll genre. Chuck Berry is Rock and Roll so is Axl Rose. Queen Latifah is not but that is my own Rock and Roll view point.
I vaguely remember White Stripes and they surely do not even come close to Supertramp or The Verve, Blurr etc…
Christopher Cross has twice the amount of albums that Queen Latifah has. You must be confused with her TV and movie career.
If you don’t understand Rock snd Roll predates Rock then you don’t understand what your talking about. Your precipitation is invalid because you have the meaning of Rock and Roll wrong.
Everytime this topic comes up, it is clear some people just want it to be the “Rock” hall of fame.
