Rice @ #15 UH - 11/12/21 7PM CST ESPN+ (W 79-46)

True…but, go watch the games Baylor played against Villanova(Sweet 16) and Arkansas (Elite 8).

The games were much closer.

Arkansas had a chance. (6 point game with 5 minutes to go)

Oh yeah, exactly at that seven minute mark is when the crowd changed lol.

Also near the end of the first half, they gave our org a stand up sign and we started chirping at the section behind the students. It was funny.

Also, if they are keeping tickets as ‘bought’ tickets in terms of attendance, 5000 are season tickets, 1000 are students, 900 for anything else brought in.

Student section once again weak. But the tickets were reserved and paid for.’
And you don’t that place went wild especially when Taze hit that game tying shot?
Sorry we must have been at different games

We were jumping around when that happened. One of our members fainted/passed out LOL

Edit: For like five seconds. He woke back up and went crazy again. He was fine, gave him lots of water.

Also, the student section is CRAMPED this year. Not in terms of how many are down there, the physical space is absolutely much less than it was in 2018-2019 and 19-20.

We average about 25,000 for football right? Do most of them just not like basketball?

Well the board usually gets twice the comments and followers on game chats for football games compared to basketball. Which is disappointing.

With Mark out, we played 8 against Hofstra. So it looks like a 9-man rotation with the freshmen and Powell getting minutes to develop as circumstances warrant.

Sean Paul, a smart CBB guy, his thoughts on Rice:

Travis Evee (6ft 1")
Quincy Olivari (6ft 3")
Carl Pierre (6ft 4")
Max Fiedler (6ft 11")
Mylyjael Poteat (6ft 9")

Hopefully we have mark. We need him bad. If we fix our rebounding and bad TOs we should be good

The last time we played Rice, a 97-89 tough win. Rice gave up 65! points in the 2nd half

Football is has a bigger profile than basketball and once again some of you find a way to turn a great crowd into a negative.

Tuesday night vs Hofstra. Go back in history and find the last time we had such a good crowd for a midweek game vs a non brand name team.

Evee shot 60% from the 3…that concerns me.

I would like to watch the Coogs play any game where I can digest my recently previous meal in peace.

Until than I always keep the Prilosec handy.

Speaking of Rice, I met one of Rice’s all-time greats Ricky Pierce at a UH football practice in the late 1970s. We were recruiting him.

Imagine Ricky in the same backcourt with Rob Williams…

Our crowd was solid for a midweek game vs a team from Long Island. My seats were filled by brother-in-law and niece until they had to leave early because she’s a fifth grader and it was late.

We built the Fertitta Center the exact right size. Look at the other major city schools. Philadelphia, Orlando, Dallas, Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, Salt Lake, SF Bay, Atlanta, Miami, Vegas, and St. Louis all had arenas well under half filled.
