Kallas: Russia’s Oreshnik strike on Ukraine is a warning to the US and Europe
Skynet is born…
Ukraine’s AI-driven drones: ‘Think we created the monster’
If this is accurate…wow. Russia apparently lost over twice the number of KIA soldiers in January (44,000) as it did during the entire 10-year Afghanistan war.
The US lost roughly 44,000 soldiers in Korea and about 49,000 in Vietnam (MIA/KIA).
And compare that to only about 7100 KIAs between Iraq and Afghanistan in two decades of combat operations.
Putin hates his people
In addition to killing his soldiers at an unfathomable rate while gaining little in the process, this is crushing the country.
In a different time in history, I would say they’re ripe to be taken over themselves.
Honestly this pretty stereotypical Russian military over the course of their history. Human waves into the meat grinder and limited successes on the offensive. Hell of a defensive military, but typically not very strong on offense if the initial wave falters.
Good, F Putin. I hope his people turn on him.
If the Russian human toll continues, I expect someone within his inner circle to take him out. Russian genocide of his own making.
When will we put out a statement in support of the Russian revolt
Maybe we can go in and prez nap him like Maduro.
Don’t forget that weapons of mass destruction were never found in Irak. Citing some 40 years old decaying weapons and unusable is lying to everyone. Thousands were killed and mamed for life based on lies.
IF you mean Iraq (not “Irak”)…That’s WRONG Bro!
WMDs WERE INDEED found in Iraq.
See here. It specifically mentions chemical weapons, all of which were supposed to have been destroyed, and all of which are WMDs, being found in Iraq and even causing casualties to US forces during the Iraq War.
Those chemical weapons that were found were indeed weapons of mass destruction (ALL chemical weapons are defined as weapons of mass destruction; don’t try and say otherwise because you would be wrong), were supposed to have been destroyed under treaty, and were not.
That was a causa belli for the war in the first place according to the of force resolution, and it proved to be true.
The Iraq War rationale is thus vindicated, whether you agree with it or not.
It’s not a lie. In fact, as you’ll see in the article I posted, we even sustained casualties from those chemical weapons, once discovered, so they were still capable of doing harm, even if old. Some chemical agents can be VERY persistent.
And strategically, unlike Afghanistan, the Iraq Wars (there were really two) proved to be amazing successes. Saddam was overthrown, ISIS was decimated, and Iraq today is now the most functional democracy in the Arab World.
We succeeded in Iraq…and ultimately FAILED in Afghanistan.
Now then, I’m not sure why you were bringing that up. It had nothing to do with anything I said or posted on THIS string.
In my previous post, I said nothing about that. I was simply contrasting how in Iraq and Afghanistan combined, the USA only had about 7100 KIAs in over 20 years of combat operations…while P.O.S. Putin is facing SEVERAL TIMES that number of KIAs among his ranks EVERY MONTH according to some sources.
That shows a) just how poorly Putin has conducted this war, b) just how inefficiently he and his forces have been in fighting/leading it, and c) just how brave and staunch the outmanned Ukrainian resistance to Putin’s invasion has been.
SLAVA NA UKRAINI!!!
Again, you did not read my post. I wrote that the Iraq weapons of mass destruction were 40 years plus and could not have been used in combat. You know it yourself. Be genuine for once.
Not only was the weapons of mass destruction theory debunked but it has been widely reported. Here is a one second search:
The so called “intelligence officers” were not only wrong but these same individuals stayed on in their positions. I do not blame bush junior but surely the so called intelligence officers that perpetuated a lie. Many of them went on to work for lucrative defense contractor positions.
No I don’t.
And the reason I don’t is OBVIOUS. BECUASE WE SUSTAINED CASUALTIES FROM THEM.
If they were capable of causing casualties, then in the wrong hands and with enough creativity, they could have been used in combat. DON’T lie and say otherwise.
Think about how much damage was done in Iraq and Afghanistan with homemade bombs.
Imagine a homemade bomb with one of those undisposed of chemical agents.
Trust me, it could be used in combat in a variety of lethal ways.
Take it from someone who…unlike you…has a bit of military training and experience. I’m pretty sure my opinion on military matters trumps yours.
As for what those guys said…who cares?
I have a very good source, and there are documented findings and casualties.
Case closed.
Do you realize how self righteous" you look by writing that?
Are you the only one that served in this conflict. I have some good sources too that tell me this was never the case.
I’ve posted my sources.
And if these chemical agents were capable of causing casualties…don’t try to tell me that they couldn’t have been used in combat.
Of course they could have.
Posted what sources? The same intelligence that told us a certain laptop was russian? and yes some of these same sources were embedded with the same people that told us they were weapons of mass destruction ready to be used on everybody’s army.
“Don’t try to tell that they could not have been used in combat”
You either did not read the articles or you just won’t admit that there were no WOMD’s to be able to be used for combat. Moving these 40 plus years old+, decaying “remnants” would have injured the handlers.
Keep trying to justify a lie that gave $B’s to the alliburtons and others.
Read the NY Times article that interviews Soldiers that encountered the chemical weapons. And which documents finding over 5,000 chemical weapons.
Those are indeed WMDs, they were not destroyed as required, they were indeed found in Iraq post invasion…and yes…given that they were capable of causing casualties, and did indeed cause casualties…don’t give me any of this CRAP about how they couldn’t have been used in combat.
Keep trying to justify THAT lie…IN VAIN!!!
YOU obviously did not read the article I posted.
